cperleberg Posted Monday at 07:34 PM Posted Monday at 07:34 PM I know this is covered somewhere, but I can't find it. How to you stop the game from stuffing all the aircraft you have into the objects/file folder? That is, when I start SF2 Europe, I suddenly have access to all the Israeli and Vietnam aircraft. I want all the aircraft to stay where they're supposed to be!
Righteous26 Posted Monday at 10:15 PM Posted Monday at 10:15 PM You can manually remove those you do not want from the \Objects\Aircraft folder.
Wrench Posted Monday at 10:42 PM Posted Monday at 10:42 PM It's how the games are built since Day 1 -- you'll ALWAYS have access to ALL aircraft from ALL the SF2 exes. Hence, the term "merged installs" (this IS covered in the Knowledge Base, by the way). you can easily delete the offending aircraft folders from the /Objects/Aircraft from the SF2:Europe mod folder. With a little bit of luck, they won't repopulate. Also, making sure whichever map you're flying on has a "Limited Nations = TRUE" and a list of said nations. GermanyCE already has that, as does VietnamSEA. Or you can do what most people do, just ignore them
daddyairplanes Posted yesterday at 02:43 PM Posted yesterday at 02:43 PM if you have migrating aircraft, means you have multiple exes if you want stand alones, take each exe and assign it the theater you want (naval, Europe, Israel, Balkans etc) then go in and delete the birds you dont want. feel free to add in birds that you do want from here or other sites same for terrains. althought the delete process here is to have a copy of that terrain folder and a blank terrain ini if you make an install that is not a stock TW one, you will need to leave one stock bird in minimum. This is for ones like ODS 30AE or my Balkans install that im working on building up for post Cold War era takes a little work, but its quite feasible
