Major Lee Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I took a ride in a HUEY UH1 "Greyhound" two summers ago, flown by the Michigan Flight Museum. They travel around to different airports and museums, offering an opportunity to flying their aircraft. The pilot felt the need to drive like it like he stole it and they were shooting at him for doing it. Bank angle was 60°+ from vertical multiple times during the flight. You're basically looking straight down at the ground in a side seat. This Huey flew in Viet Nam with the 240th Assault Helicopter Company, known as the “Greyhounds, Mad Dogs, and Kennel Keepers.” It is the real deal, with pilots and crew mostly made up of Army aviation veterans. Awesome ride, my video does not really capture the essence of sitting on the edge of nostalgia, recalling the days of my mis-spent youth, hoping to find somewhere to get a refund (thanks Dave S, hope you don't mind my borrowing that). I had a few rides in Hueys when I was stationed in Germany, so many years ago. Great to see the world from the air once again, with nothing between myself and earth, but air... https://miflightmuseum.org/aircraft-collection/ 6 1
