MicroProse is remastering the EAW Game.

They are coding updates to the game using a 'close as possible' v1.2 code base.

I believe MP is looking to read user responses to this event at SimHQ. I yet to see any indication though.

MP supplied a PDF indicating the old faults of the game and what was done to fix them. It's all still on going.

It looks to be a 'on the fly' (no pun) enhanced graphics. mean the game exe will do it during the running of the game with the old assets/gamedata.
The exception seems to be the ground tiles. I think they upscaled those out of the game.

Agreed. One of my favorite sims. I still run the GOG version. I will be very interested to see what they do with pricing and where it will be offered on sale. Steam would be a no-go for me.

Yeah, not into Steam myself. The new "Combat Pilot" sim looks really fantastic as they develop it, but they have gone straight to Steam also, even for their alpha distribution.

Did you read the EAW development PDF MP supplied? They did all the major leg work to the game engine already.

(on a side note: It looks like MP is committed to that B-17 game, and to finish it.)

I hope they finish the new B-17 game, I have been following that since they first announced it. It would be great to see EAW in the air again. It truly is a Gem.

This would be incredible. I hope they do, and I hope it sells, and I hope that motivates them to remaster Pacific Air War as well!

I agree with you. Pacific Air War 1942 and Task Force 1942: Surface Naval Action in the South Pacific were among my top favorites. A Task Force 1942 would be a great remaster also. I have  the current Task Force Admiral and its a very immersive game and amazingly fun game.
