Bombsight / Gunsight

I had an idea that I could create or mod an existing gunsight circle to have a long thin verticle line thru it pointing upwards. This sight when set to a deflection of 800 would look like a normal sight but with a verticle line comming off it 1/3 1/2 way up the screen. This verticle line could be used to get the red target box lined up correctly before bomb release. Can this be done, or is the gunsight limited to a certain size?

 

Your help/comments would be appreciated.

How do I do that? Is he a member here?

I have used the mods you are refering to but they do not solve the aiming problem they are just lowered gunsights, in effect. The line is the clincher here and I can't get it to work.

Is there any way to add gunsight mode to Spad? I've downloaded it recently but there's isn't air to ground mode in the plane's sight

Try this:

 

In your A-1H_COCKPIT.ini make this change

 

[GunsightFront]

HasGunsight=TRUE

GunsightMilSize=100

GunsightName=A-1H_sight.tga

MaxDepression=250

DefaultDepression=50<-----change to this number

 

Then select air to ground.. :)

No,,,none of the bombers have bombsights,,i just devised a mod for level bombing that works pretty good for what it is...

 

A bombsight can be added to any aircraft,,but it's a mod... :)

Yes,,it used a bombing system called SHORAN,,a computer/nav type....

Ummm, dfang? I had installed the bombsight mod, but how to use it? The cross-hairs only show in the caged mode, in air-to-ground they just disappear...

Set your joystick up per instructions,,

 

Install the new viewlist.ini provided..

 

When you select air to ground ,,use hud only (no cockpit visable) the bombsight will be down in the correct position,,then use zoom control on your mouse to zoom in on the crosshairs... :)
