Oghkhood Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 I'd like to know what kind of mission it was dedicated to, the ac performances. And also if it was appreciated or not by the pilots. I always thought this is a nice little fighter, but never known anything about it. Oghkhood Quote

Although it did not have the performance of some of its more-costly contemporaries, it was reliable, easy to maintain, and relatively inexpensive. It served only in relatively small numbers with the United States armed forces, first as a trial with the USAF in Vietnam and then later as an adversary aircraft with the USAF, Navy, and Marine Corps. Guest capun Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 If I remember correct the T-38 Talon trainer was based on the F-5 (or the other way around) and a lot of pilots got trained on the T-38. I see a couple of them flying around my house all the time and IMHO it was an underrated aircraft. I am anxiously waiting for the model. Quote
snapple2993 Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 I'm not much for AF planes, but I will say that the F-5 looks damn good. Quote
