PythonOne Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 1.) I'm trying to make WOV look its best so I went to look for some tiles. Everyone seems to refer to Deuce's Enhanced WoV tiles but i can't seem to find it. Could anyone give me a link please? 2.) I really want to remove the little info box that displays my speed, alititude, heading, and the radar on my external window. Is there a way to remove it? I like my external view to have a clean look- ideal for screenshots. 3.) When i tried to land in the F-4, it appears really easy. But i made a horrible land, nose down first and i was surprised the nose gear didn't break or i didn't crash. My realism is set to the highest, is there a way to improve on the realism a little bit more? 4.) What is Yankee Air Pirate? I think its an addon? What does it do? Sorry if these have been answered before, just looking for some answers. Thanks in advance! Quote
+Stary Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) Hello PythonOne! For Deuces tiles (and awesome new effects) look at his site at www.sfmods.com Also check his excellent tree mod at that site EDIT: You can assign a key in config to toggle hud display -its called "HUD information toggle" in control section For smaller text and icons look for a text mod here at CA in SF/WoV/WoE download section As for landing -it seems that your "landing" setting was set on lower level, also bear in mind that such things happen rarely in WoV Yankee Air Pirate is a PAYWARE addon aviable at yankeeairpirate.net. It deeply recreates real flown missions from vietnam war -plus adds TONS of new a/c, objects and targets. But i don't know more about it Edited March 13, 2007 by CA_Stary Quote
tank03 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) It might be worth your while to consult the Knowledge Base articles just to be sure you are up to speed on the avialable mods etc. In particular there is a specific mod to eliminate the radar display form the upper right corner. The knowledge base initial setup guide is found here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=8786 Screen shots: As already mentioned, using the HUD key, one can cycle through the three HUD configurations to eliminate the onscreen text, target boxes, HUD info, etc. I usually hit Pause before taking a screenshot so that I can fiddle around with camera angles and make the HUD changes. YAP: I highly recommend trying some YAP missions. Yes, they are payware, but they are very reasonably priced and they have a ton of add on planes, objects, weapons, etc. The missions themselves are historically accurate and very, very intense. Much more realistic and intense than anything the ingame mission generator can come up with. One of the things I like about having YAP is that the airfields now have some life to them with lights, parked A/C's, trucks moving around, etc. YAP also has new target locations in Cambodia and S.Vietnam. ONe of my favorite YAP missions is flying a C-130 to Khe Sahn and dropping pallets of supplies while under heavy fire. You can't do that with just the regular WOV. PythonOne Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 thanks guys for all the info! I'm slowly getting there. Anyway, are there any other WOV goodie sites aside from this one? And which site has the most popular forum for WOV? Quote
tank03 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 thanks guys for all the info! I'm slowly getting there. Anyway, are there any other WOV goodie sites aside from this one? And which site has the most popular forum for WOV? The official thirdwire site has an extensive list of links to WOV/SFP1 websites: http://www.thirdwire.com/community.htm As far as I know the thirdwire forum, here at CA, and simHQ are the really major WOV forums; though of those three, I think CombatACE is by far the best. PythonOne Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 great, glad i came to the right place. Btw...does anyone have a good X-52 profile for WOV. yes yes i know i should make my own but i would really like to see how do you guys set it up and what did you determine as common keys. I'll make my own based on your profiles. Quote
+littlesmoke Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I've got a good profile for the thirdwire jet games. it's for the X52 (non-pro) for use without rudder pedals or eyetracking hardware. I can email you the file if you like. Quote
Sgt.KAR98 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Does that effects include the nuclear bomb effect? The atom bombs are pathetic. It does a big flah but nothing happens.Nothing is damaged... Quote

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but if you want to improve the Nuke effect then consult the effects downloads. I believe Lexx Luthor has created quite an impressive and realistic nuke effect: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3977 Quote

PythonOne Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 yea if you can give me a link to an X-52 profile (non rudder or pro) I'll really appreciate it. Quote
PythonOne Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 Oh, i was wondering if one of you boys know how to fix this. I want to fly the mig-21PFM so i downloaded this mod http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=524 But for some reason the pilot is sitting a lot farther back than he should be. All i did was drop the file in my object/aircraft folder Quote
Guest Sony Tuckson Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 this is because the Fishbed was modified with latest patches you need to open the data.ini from that plane and adjust the pilot's position open the file and search "crew" you'll then see the position to adapt Quote

Oh, and i got one more question, on my X-52 throttle (without a profile) it seems that it is hitting max power (AB) around 70-80%, is there a way to make it enable at 100%? Quote
