I hadn't played Strike Fighters for about a week and when I got back on all of my aircraft could no longer be equipped. I have no idea what is going on. Can anyone suggest a fix?

Did you install the 'Weapons Pack' just before you took a break?

No, weps are in weps and I have alredy gotten the wep pack.

OK, so, apparently, you've made the necessary edits to the 'Data' and 'Loadout' files of the various aircraft. Must be another problem, then.

I'll bet that you have a corrupt weapondata.dat file (which is what the game actually "reads", not the weapondata.ini).

First, make sure that you have a copy of the latest weapon editor. Then, go to the Objects/Weapons folder, find the weapondata.dat file, and delete it. Next, using the weapon editor, open your existing weapondata.ini (likewise located in the Objects/Weapons folder), and simply hit the save button on the weapon editor. This will generate a new weapondata.dat. and should resolve your problem.

CRAP! Now the DAT file won't come back. WeaponEditor just flashes on the screen for a split second and nothing happens.

Are you running the editor in compatibility mode?

Kinda nooby but how the heck do I do that?

1.Right-click on the Weapons Editor, scroll down to 'Properties'. Click.

2.Select the 'Compatibility' tab.

3.In the 'Compatibility Mode' box, click 'check' and select 'Windows 98/Windows Me'.

4.Click on 'Apply' at the bottom of the display.

Now when you run the Weapons Editor, it should stay open. (It's OK; I only learned this about a week ago myself.) This info is also in the CombatAce 'Knowledge Base'.

Okay, now what do you do if you get the error, "Unable to create for writing!" every time you hit save?
