Hey guys,

Well, my copy of EECH2 came in the mail yesterday, and it's in the spitting image of the original with a huge facelift. Problems can run far and wide from graphics adjustment to maintaining the same controls when I change the graphics around. For example, view controls that I assign to the stick end up on the rudder pedals. Running the game in 640X480 looks somewhat nasty, and so does 800x600, but at higher levels, the game will hiccup itself into freezing. I'm happy that it's out, but not happy that there are few adjustment options to get the game running and looking decent. Did anyone else get the game yet?

I also received my copy yesterday. So far running very well. Have not had any problems. James

Hey guys,

Hi mate, yeah I got it too and yes there are some bugs that I hope a patch will

sort out, the problem with tail rotor control to the joystick seemed to sort

itself out but there are still some gameplay issues so the jury's out but I

really want this sim to work because it could be a beauty

Yeah I got it the day it came out, played it for a couple days, then deleted it. Enough said :boredom:

Too arcade-y for my liking, lack of immersion in the campaign even though they bill it as a dynamic campaign, boring missions, not enough variety, and most and foremost, too damn easy.

I got it yesterday, I haven't had time to test it but I hope that I'll be able to do that during the weekend. Just wondering - can one player in MP be the WSO while the other is the pilot?

Last week I was fed up with the delay/ hiccup ion the graphics and went to get a new card. I bought a Geforce 7600 GS 512 mb card. Much better now, but still some bugs

Have to say that I also bought this game but it's gathering dust until a patch comes out to fix the bugs. Gonna stick with my modded version of EECH.

Theres a good 2 part review over on SimHQ by BeachAV8R found here,

How moddable is EECH?

I saw a picture of a mountain side and it looked normal mapped like if it was out of HL2...I thought it was an old game?

Are you sure that wasn't an EE2 shot? EECH has been brought from 2000-era to maybe 2004-era graphics, but it's still behind what EE2 can do. The issue is more what EE2 does do vs what it can.

Zagnut,

Did you have any luck running the game? I have played both the earlier games extensively...loved it, loved it, loved it. I cannot, under any circumstances get the new version to run, however. I have worked with the StratFirst helpline, but guess what....no help. Anybody else experiencing problems running the game out their in cyber land?

EECH2 is a broke compared to the modded original. Its far behind in builds, wont link up with EEAH,and is inferior in many respects other then a little eye candy.Besides it won't be long before we have a sweet 3d pit for the AH-64 to.I'm sticking to EECH1 with mods.

Basically it fixes collisions with thin air... And fixes lights in cockpits.

Such patches should be released even before the game hits the shelves - not several months after.

Well for what it's worth here's what I thought.. My post on the SIMHQ site. Just ignore the last few lines.:biggrin:

WOW..completely gobsmacked...!!!I got the EECH2 sim last week- well actually I was given it as a late birthday present. Having found it entertaining? investigated and found the original sim EECH and bought it for next to nothing and have just downloaded and installed the latest addons.I couldn't believe that the stuff you guys have produced is IMHO better than the newer release!!I am absolutely amazed at the quality and fluid flight dynamics.I have no idea how you guys do this magic but I for one have to say a VERY BIG THANK you to all concerned.I'f only I had looked at this earlier I probably wouldn't have bothered with EECH2. I guess I'll keep it though in case you guys start improving that one too!!!Thanks again to all contributors.Golly if this continues I may well become converted from fixed wing to rotorhead but don't tell the people at CombateACE.

Well,

My hat is off the the help desk.....they were totally awesome and patient with me. I rarely bother with help desks...but they were very patient and we finally resolved my issues, well my computer issues, that is. I am cash strapped, so I am running a 3G P4 with 1500 megs of RAM. My graphics card is a NVidia 512MB 7600GS? card. I had to resolve some registry issues and make sure that your bios are up to date. The game plays well now, but with a few issues. An occassional crash, but play has improvved, however I find myself pounding the hell out of a target indicated on the radar screen, but not visible to the naked eye. The trailer showed a much different level of detail and realism that is not present in the game. Don't get me wrong, the graphics are better than the original, but they are not what is indicated in the trailer. I liked the original, and made moderate improvements, but if there are more updates for the original, can someone provide me with details.

Hey guys,

I'm new to comabatACE but, I've been lurking around for awhile. I got EE2 in early Nov. It has yet to run on my PC. I've been in contact with Stratagy First Tech Support back and forth many times (5 or 6 ) I installed the patch. I updated video and sound drivers. The asked for diagnostic files and crash logs. I sent the latest CRASH.log files to Stratagy First, Sunday Nov25. That's three days and still no contact back with even a status report. I've been working with them for three weeks to get all of the patch loaded and drivers updated. They last told me that Win XL is finicky.

Well can anyone tell me how to turn off Windows XL?

Maybe I need to find me a copy of EECH. Can you tell if it will work with the Saitek X52 Hotas? I flew EEAH but I thought it would be outdated. It wouldn't recognise my new HOTAs and rudder pedals. Will EECH run with all of the great graphics at say 1280 x 1024?

I know I have to download and update to new files for EECH. I got a crispy clean and fast PC here and It NEEDS to be driven!!

Thanks

Can't help with XL... And I doubt anyone, devs included, can do much about EE2 :dntknw:

My EECH 1.9 (with community patch and combined install with EEAH) runs perfectly with X-52Pro - that's exactly the game that can use up all it's buttons . It also works fine with TrackIR. And it can run at 1280*1024.
