Hi,

does anyone know how those static aircraft are put into place ? they seem to be connected with the israelME-terrain, since they do not appear in other terrains. what is the trick ?

how can i make them appear in custom made missions as well ? and define their resp. type and placing ?

thx for any answer

They are defined in the terrain section, by airfield

For example, extract the Desert_Airfield1.ini from the terrain.cat file

[Runway001]

Heading=0

Offset=0,0

Length=2500

Width=90

.

.

.

ParkingChance=60

ParkingMaxSpan=18.0

Parking[01].Heading=180

Parking[01].Offset=333,-122

Parking[02].Heading=180

Parking[02].Offset=375,-122

.

.

LargeParkingChance=15

LargeParkingMaxSpan=48.0

LargeParking[01].Heading=217

LargeParking[01].Offset=353,368

LargeParking[02].Heading=217

LargeParking[02].Offset=395,337

.

.

I am not sure, but I am guessing LargeParking is for big planes (Off the top of my head, I don't know how they are figured out, maybe from the planes' base size)

I also think the planes placed on the parking area are randomly picked.

Hope it helps

i wish someone would do this for WOE i mean destroying jets on the ground are

equally fun as shooting them down.

The next patch should sort this out

What, like my static aircraft in Germany CE?

It's tedious, but conceptually straightforward. I've already done it.

GermanyCE terrain with:

Hi Res airfield tiles

Gepards airfields

JSF_Aggies Road airbases

Airfield light addons

Brain32 and CA_Stary's tile and terrain object mod

Yep, this is WOI....and those F-16s are static aircraft put in there by the game.

hey guys,any chance to use this in carriers?

I imagine that would be a lot tougher since the carrier moves. maybe something in the formation portion of the ini?
