malibu43 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I was pleased to find a mod to allow only 2 Mav's to be loaded onto the LAU-88, which is more realistic for A-10's and F-16's and such. Here's the thread: http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?...086#Post2498086 I wanted to do the same thing with the TER, since that is how CBU's and other munitions are used on F-16's, etc (ie - only two bombs on a TER). This is what I created in the weapon data. It's just a copy of the TER data, with an attachment position removed: [WeaponData2057] TypeName=TERL FullName=A/A37B-5 TER ModelName=ter Mass=43.090000 Diameter=0.230000 Length=1.980000 AttachmentType=USAF,USN,UK,W_GERMANY,JAPAN NationName=USAF StartYear=0 EndYear=0 Availability=3 BaseQuantity=24 Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=0 ExportEndYear=0 ExportAvailability=3 WeaponDataType=6 WeaponsRackType=TER NumWeapons=2 LoadLimit=500.000000 LengthLimit=4.000000 MaxFuelAmount=0.000000 Attachment01Position=0.180000,0.000000,-0.020000 Attachment01Angle=0.000000,0.000000,2578.310078 Attachment02Position=0.000000,0.000000,-0.250000 Attachment02Angle=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000 [WeaponData2058] TypeName=TERR FullName=A/A37B-5 TER ModelName=ter Mass=43.090000 Diameter=0.230000 Length=1.980000 AttachmentType=USAF,USN,UK,W_GERMANY,JAPAN NationName=USAF StartYear=0 EndYear=0 Availability=3 BaseQuantity=24 Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=0 ExportEndYear=0 ExportAvailability=3 WeaponDataType=6 WeaponsRackType=TER NumWeapons=2 LoadLimit=500.000000 LengthLimit=4.000000 MaxFuelAmount=0.000000 Attachment01Position=0.180000,0.000000,-0.020000 Attachment01Angle=0.000000,0.000000,2578.310078 Attachment02Position=0.000000,0.000000,-0.250000 Attachment02Angle=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000 The problem is that the bombs loaded with a bomb on the inside attachment point instead of the outside, which is the opposite of the way it should be. I tried changed the x values to +/- and couldn't get it fixed. I'm so close! Can someone help me get it right? Thanks! Quote
malibu43 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Never mind. I got it figured out. There was another TER higher up in the weapon data that only had 2 attachment point (TER_CBU), so it was defaulting to that rack instead. Got it worked out now! Quote
mppd Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I just went thru a project tweaking the loadouts for the F-4. I wanted to be able to load correct weapons from the single mission loadout screen, like 2xMk83 1000 lb on TER, or 2xBLU-1 Napalm on TER, or 3xMk82 500 lb FE on TER. I ended up changing weight and length of the individual weapon entries in the weapondata.ini file, and/or adjusting what the TER could carry in weight per station to get what I wanted. Same with specifying what AAMs of gunpods could be loaded - ended up creating duplicate weapon entries with a different file name, with different nationality attachment type or start/end use date to get what I wanted (with corresponding entries in the aircraft data.ini). It was fun and I learned a lot. Mike Druzolowski Quote

Wow. I had no idea about that entry. That could be really useful. The only issue with using that entry is that you wouldn't have the option to load 3 MK 82's to the weapon station in question (if you were talking about the F-16). Certain weapons (like CBU's) would be outside only, but others (like Mk 82's) would be loaded on all 3 attachment points. If you do it the other way (creating another rack), you still have the option to load 3 weapons if you want. But still good to know. I wonder how many other random entries are out there that very few people know about... Thanks! Quote
+Gocad Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I think there's something else you could try...set the LoadLimit of the F-16's weaponstation to '910'. You may need to rearrange the attachment points of the TER, but in the end it should provide you with the desired results...well, at least as long as you use the CBU-87, 94 or 97. Quote
Bravo2009 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Hello all, I was looking for an old website that explained the Guidance systems for the various weapons, specifically bombs and AGM's. Basically since last night I have been trying to get the BRU-57 Smart Rack to function in WOI but to no avail. I have changed it's parameters around to allow for carriage of the AGM-154 JSOW and the GBU-38 500lb JDAM. There are 2 BRU-57's, I believe they came from Bunyap's pack. One of the BRU-57's is set up as 2BR (BOMB, LGB) and the other BRU-57 is set up as TLR. The GBU-38 and the AGM-154 are set up with a guidance of GPS Homing. The length of the JSOW is set to 4m, I set the max limit on the BRU-57 to 4.1, with a max weight each of 480kg for each weapon. I've been trying testing this on the FA-18F. I have set the pylons to a max diameter of 1.9m and have included the 2BR and TLR code to it but it still will not load more than 1 weapon per pylon per side. +FastCargo Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 EOGBs (currently setup as GPS) cannot be carried on racks. Or another way to put it...there are no racks that can carry EOGBs (GPS). That's why my SDBs are EOGRs. TLRs can carry EOGRs. FastCargo Quote

+FastCargo Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 No, because JSOWS aren't normally carried on racks (I've never seen pictures of such). However, it would be easy enough for you to make the change, just change them to EOGRs with zero thrust engines. FastCargo Quote
Bravo2009 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Thanks again for the help FastCargo. I have seen photos for the JSOW on a rack, but thinking back I think they were from when they were being cleared on the BRU-57. I tried to make it more like your GBU-39's but the JSOW dropped like a rock, did not guide. Oh well. Thanks again for everything. Quote

Malibu, Edit the TER in the Weapons Editor and change the coordinates to set the positions in the order that you want them loaded (and dropped). You'll want the centerline to be #1 position and #2 to be the outside position. My TER has been modified after I read a thread about making the bombs drop from the rack in the correct order with centerline going first. Edited November 10, 2008 by Czech6 Quote
