only for the US (and Canada maybe but i'm not sure)

rest of the world - don't download

Apparently, if downloaded anywhere but North America, South Africa, Oz or NZ you get the error message "ErrorCode = PI, 30022". Which is interesting since the game is produced in South Korea.

Eh? What in the world? That doesn't make any sense!!! Why would they limit it to those countries only? Sure hope a patch comes out to enable global worming... errr I mean roadkilling carmageddon... *cough* argh! Y'all know I mean CS-like Bunny-jumping!!!

Seriously though, this game looks like it could be the coolest thing in terms of CS-like gameplay since The Specialists Mod came out for HL1...

What?! They fixed that?? I might dig it out and dust it off...

I like the idea of being able to mod the weapons.

Did you ever try out "The Specialists Mod" for Half-Life (1)? There you could not only kit out your weapons, but you had bullet-time and everything... IMHO the best mod ever for Half-Life... I forgot CS after trying out TS, it rocked!!!

Still is a hit at the LANs I play @ home. :ok:

That looks disturbingly like SolderFront...which I have been playing long enough that I don't see myself switching now, even if the game worked everywhere I'd want it to.

It doesn't look bad at all, though, graphics and otherwise. Pretty authentic looking AK, from the trailer I watched.

I have been playing it for a few weeks. It is pretty decent. Do not expect Ghost Recon, Battlefield, or even America's Army type of play. More just bunny hopping and run gunning. As you gain experience (and points) you can rent weapons for maxim period of 30 days by cashing in your game points. You can also unlock things as you progress in rank.

The game is not laggy, loads fast, and with 16 players (max) it runs pretty fast. The maps are small and are good for run gun type matches.

People I know who have it really like it, but I understand it is just for online play which with my crappy dialup counts me out. Actually I've been playing a another free FPS called Alien Arena which is more like Unreal Tournament, and there's offline play. Anyone interested check out their site here.

Correction: as I'm currently in the United States, I figured I would give it a shot. Turns out it's pretty enjoyable - it looks amazing, at least on the weapons side of things, if the physics are a little screwy...true, it's not America's Army or CS, but it's not half-bad for a free shooter. Kind of like Soldier Front, but less poorly executed. It gets 4 out of 5 stars from me, but one of those stars is only because it's free.
