FLOGGER23 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) Hello everyone, this is flogger23 once again trying to learn a little bit more and leech from your knowledge. As simple as that, i have a question: I use to see some vietnam war pictures of an F-4D configured to drop guided bombs, using the pave knife laser designator, i found it here in combat ace, but when i try to use it, the pod appears in the center station, and i've seen it on the left inboard station (the other 3 were used by GBU-10 LGB's). Now, is there a way to make this assimetrical load feasible for the plane (i was able to put on ecm pod on the forward left sparrow bay, think it was an ALQ-119) so it can match with the one i've seen on the picture? (If i had had the pictures i really would have sent to you, but i don't, and havent found 'em on the net) Edited September 24, 2008 by FLOGGER23 Quote
Dave Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Yes you can, but I need Wrench here to explain it to you as I am not sure of the procedure. Quote
FLOGGER23 Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 But you guys think that i need to modify the loadout.ini file or something else??? Quote
Gocad Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 (edited) Actually you should already be able to load the AVQ-23 Pave Spike in the front right left Sparrow station: Stock TW F-4D, stock F-4D_data.ini...with bunyap's weapons pack installed. There's no need for aircraft_data or loadout .ini edits. Edited September 25, 2008 by Gocad Quote
FLOGGER23 Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 Thanks for the info, but actually i'm referring to the AVQ-10 pave knife and as far as i know it can only be used on the center station and i've seen it on the left inboard wing station, i've found them on my pics collection, take a look: Quote
DWCAce Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I think that if you specify it in the loadout.ini, it will load it as required. Other than that, I'd say split up the stations in the the a/cdata.ini, but that would be tricky as it already has 6 groups. Quote
Gocad Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 (edited) I wouldn't recommend to use the loadout.ini to get the LP and the LGBs aboard, since we all know that the AI doesn't really like those 'smart' bombs, right? Okay, that's definitely something else. I must have been thrown off by the fact that I didn't have this one in my weapons pack. That would require an aircraft_data edit, which would like this: [LeftOuterWingStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=1 StationGroupID=1 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=-3.47,0.37,-1.18 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-1.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1600 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,LGB,ARM,GP,IFP,MER,RP AttachmentType=NATO,USAF ModelNodeName=wing_pylon_outer_left01 PylonMass=86.18 PylonDragArea=0.02 [RightOuterWingStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=2 StationGroupID=1 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=3.47,0.37,-1.18 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-1.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1600 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,LGB,ARM,GP,IFP,MER,RP AttachmentType=NATO,USAF ModelNodeName=wing_pylon_outer_right01 PylonMass=86.18 PylonDragArea=0.02 [LeftInnerWingStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=3 StationGroupID=3 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=-2.05,2.74,-1.28 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-1.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1400 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,LGB,EOGB,NUC,EOGR,ARM,EP,TER,TLR,RP,LP AttachmentType=NATO,USAF ModelNodeName=AdapterLeft ;PylonMass= ;PylonDragArea= LaunchRailNodeName= MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= [RightInnerWingStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=4 StationGroupID=4 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=2.05,2.74,-1.28 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-1.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1400 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,LGB,EOGB,NUC,EOGR,ARM,EP,TER,TLR,RP AttachmentType=NATO,USAF ModelNodeName=AdapterRight ;PylonMass= ;PylonDragArea= LaunchRailNodeName= MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= [CenterlineStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=5 StationGroupID=6 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.37,-1.01 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-2.0,0.0 LoadLimit=2050 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,LGB,NUC,GP,LP,IFP,DLP,MER,RCN AttachmentType=NATO,USAF ModelNodeName=pylon_centerline PylonMass=32.21 PylonDragArea=0.02 LaunchRailNodeName= MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= [sparrowStation1] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=6 StationGroupID=5 StationType=SEMI_RECESSED AttachmentPosition=-0.501,5.07,-0.84 AttachmentAngles=2.0,0.0,2.0 MissileRollAngle=45.0 EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-2.0 LoadLimit=231.5 AllowedWeaponClass=SAHM,LP AttachmentType=NATO,USAF MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= [sparrowStation2] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=7 StationGroupID=5 StationType=SEMI_RECESSED AttachmentPosition=0.501,5.07,-0.84 AttachmentAngles=-2.0,0.0,-2.0 MissileRollAngle=45.0 EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-2.0 LoadLimit=231.5 AllowedWeaponClass=SAHM,EP AttachmentType=NATO,USAF MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= [sparrowStation3] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=8 StationGroupID=7 StationType=SEMI_RECESSED AttachmentPosition=-1.08,-0.65,-0.87 AttachmentAngles=0.0,2.0,5.0 MissileRollAngle=45.0 EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-2.0 LoadLimit=231.5 AllowedWeaponClass=SAHM AttachmentType=NATO,USAF MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= [sparrowStation4] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=9 StationGroupID=7 StationType=SEMI_RECESSED AttachmentPosition=1.08,-0.65,-0.87 AttachmentAngles=0.0,2.0,-5.0 MissileRollAngle=45.0 EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-2.0 LoadLimit=231.5 AllowedWeaponClass=SAHM AttachmentType=NATO,USAF MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= .... +FLOGGER23 Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 I'll try this when i hit home today, but thanks anyways, i think it will work, thanks to all. Quote
Wrench Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 All covered in the Knowledge Base "Weapons and Loadout Threads"....for a long time. Why does no one bother to read them, I wonder??? Also, some of you'll probably discover the stock Mig-23 and 27 have their drop tanks named incorrectly in the stock data and loadout inis. Never had a problem with LGBs, pre-patch or post.... hmm...noticed the use of Station 7 -- 6 has always been the limit; at least that shows on the loadout screen. I'm asusmed that it creates a 'false station', that dosen't show, but always loads?? Wrench kevin stein Quote
Gocad Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Yeah, StationGroup #7 (the aft Sparrow stations) won't be accessible in the loadout menu, but I think it's not much of a problem, since you can't load anything but those Sparrow missiles there and they get loaded via the loadout file. Quote
