B-36 Development

Recommended Posts

I yearn for it on Blu-ray.

I doubt its got the widespread appeal to make it onto Bluray its hard enough to find on DVD but I managed to obtain a copy along with ' A Gathering of Eagles' with Rock Hudson and B-52 with Karl Malden all of which capature really well that era of strategic bombing.

James Stewart has enough star power that it would normally be released IMO--I think there is some problem with the rights, because it has been hard to find even since the VHS days.

Not to down anyone's efforts--we all like different things--but an actual cockpit for this one would be great, as you can't capture the true look otherwise:

small_kahuna.jpg

Of course, I don't expect anyone to volunteer to make a pit this complex for a plane that has so many restrictions on it. Oh well.

Wiki says they used to take a nuclear reactor for a ride in one of those things with 4 tons of lead attached...

Can a nuke explosion be assigned as plane detonation effect? :biggrin:

Kesselbrut is doing one I think.

Its usefulness will depend on whether he releases it to everyone or not, but it'll be great coming from him.

Flew it last night. Much more stable. Stalled very easily in turn though. Its nose would dip and when I would pull up slightly to recover it started to stall on me. (Mind you this is post take off but still climbing)

My contribution to this development

I fixed the dirtyexhaust position and fit the thrust position to the new ones

OK, some updated files.

- Updated stall data, not tested

- 76's engine data (one small tweak to that)

small bug report after I finished my work I don`t know what goes wrong sometimes the righ wing doesn`t produce lift and remains on the ground! Maybe Column5 fixed it .. don`t knwo and another thing is

there are 4 jet engines but only two

Component[017]=LeftJetNacelle

Component[018]=RightJetNacelle

does it mean we have only 2 jetengines or have I missunderstand this???

Maybe Dave can take a flight with the latest data INI and let us know about the first problem (stay at home dad can fly all damn day).

As far as the nacelles, those are just subcomponents. Each one has two engines attached to it, so (after the typo was fixed) all engines should be working.

Well I flew it and took off no problem. Didn't stall as easy and the exhaust was in the right places. I didn't notice the right wing doing that at all.

Only until 1 Nov then I start back full time again and as a GS-8.......

Sounds like it just needs tuning now and we will have a respectable FM. What about reskinning it, Dave?

The bombload is ridiculously nerfed. I changed the values so that it is now capable of carrying the 44.000lbs T-12 bomb in each bay or up to a total of 86000lbs bombload.

C5 B-36D fixes extended for B & J's

Attention!!!

Airbase size is setted to medium,to work on almost every terrain

An fore bomb bay i've insert the NUC entry for upcoming ordnance

Crews are changed here's based on A-team's P3c pilots,but stock proppilot is always a good choice!

Rear facing pilot is the rooney's or WW2GunnerCB pilot renamed B36Pilot-Rear

to have all od suits and baseball caps,(seen on many photos and movies,SAC movie is a goldmine in this case!)

The rearfacing use the leather helmet (normally carried when crews move between to fore and aft compartments troug

h tunnels)

Ok I am uploading 58 MB worth of super high res pics in 3 zip files. I got views from every angle on several bombs. Also some misc B-36 pics for your viewing pleasure. Too bad we couldn't do this as a community with DAT and everyone altogether like it was.
