BLT is the decal MASTER, so I would vote for the former, Klavs...

The 522nd FS skin is decals. The special schemes are painted on. I need to get off these special schemes and get to work on some useful ones.

That is sort of what I was going for in the "skin the F-35" contest. The red anyway.

 

Kind of a tribute to Lightnings past with a combination of Dick Bong's and Tommy McGuire's, even an NJ for McGuire AFB, which last flew fighters in the F-105.

 

Couldn't get the silver to work, and the rest looked like a kid with crayons.

 

I so suck at skinning...

Its on my list but I will probably only do the flagship. In fact I am going to about 4 more ANG/RES flagships for a 2nd special scheme pack. However I promised some guys I would knock out some USMC ones next week. So I am going to do those first.

If I ever get the F-35B up and running, I'll try to keep the UV maps in more or less the same locations so that the skins are interchangeable between models.

love the Cannon skins, since i was stationed there, too bad the base stopped their fighter wing operations and went to a special ops group a while back. but its still a nice skin.

I did it as a tribute to that base and that wing. Alot of history there. They had the oldest AD Vipers and had the BRAC not had thier way with them, they might of gotten the F-35 to replace those old F-16's

I like the Cannon ones as well, as all our Aardvarks went there for a couple of years, after the McClellan BRAC...
