+Hinchinbrooke Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 Skippy, Everyone knows that Observers are the Elite of the FAA... anybody can drive, but knowing how to get home is another matter! Hinch - Any RN carrier you'd ever create is guaranteed a place of honour on my hard drive. The choice is always yours... If you did the pre-angled deck Hermes, wouldn't that open the door for Centaur and the rest of the family ? I know you mentioned Victorious, but I have to admit my all-time favorite remains your post-war Illustrious. That's my deck of choice... SB sugarblues, My ancient model of Albion/Bulwark will have to stand for Centaur for now (I have a specific start to Centaur as she was in the late '60's, but that's just a start). Hermes as far as I know was completed with angled deck...................... so she'll come with angle, if and when. As for post-reconstruction Victorious, I hope to find a little time to improve the texture and add details and a general tidying up. But for now............... getting the Daring done, so Eagle has escorts. Quote
+Hinchinbrooke Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 personally I'm more interested in the fast jet era of the FAA so any angled deck flat tops would be appreciated though this lady is gonna come in very handy for a Suez mod. Still to get her in game but from what I've seen she looks great. And Skip your responsible for the coffee on my screen.... Craig fallenphoenix, Thinking of angles........... I actually started to put together an alternative, angled, Suez deck texture for Eagle. For ten minutes that is, until I started to watch the West Ham-Everton game (amazing comeback by Everton). peiyuche Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 oh my god that 's so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
+Hinchinbrooke Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 Eagle's little helper, a Daring, soon for the paint yard, setup and release................ Quote
Royohboy Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 This is so great, I'm simply lost for words Except maybe... Three Cheers for Hinchinbrooke! Quote
sugarblues Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Hinch, I always thought the Daring class were one of the prettiest the old Admiralty design shop ever came up with... and you've done it justice! Terrific work as always, SB Quote

Terrific work as always, SB SB, Thanks! The base model is a couple of years old, so is a little rough in places. I've spent the last couple of days tidying things up and adding a little more detail (details vary across the class, so she's something of a composite). Anyway, it's time she leaves the virtual dockyard as she's not doing much around here. Hinch Quote

+Hinchinbrooke Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 yessss..... dont forget the cool DD ... ~ Crusader, Don't worry. The Daring is in dry dock awaiting paint. Then on to getting those six 4.5" guns functioning (which I've found are very potent when it comes to AA). Quote
+Hinchinbrooke Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Okay, the Daring is getting closer to commissioning............ (still fiddling with the paint) Quote
sugarblues Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 ...that's okay, the RN always fiddled with the paint too! You know the old rules, if it moves, salute it, if it doesn't, paint it! Beautiful Hinch... SB Quote
+SkippyBing Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 And look, it's got more guns than the latest Daring. Might be handy against pirates that! Quote
+Hinchinbrooke Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) Thanks SB. Just trying to disguise some of the rougher parts! Skippy, Diamond has shot down one of your Wyverns with just one operating (4.5") turret.................. so I hate to think what'll happen when all six light up! As for pirates................... yep, they might not want to take on an old Daring (little light cruiser). Edited November 21, 2008 by Hinchinbrooke Quote
+Hinchinbrooke Posted November 22, 2008 Author Posted November 22, 2008 Right, so all three 4.5" turrets function and fire............. going with that for now as TW gunnery is not the best. Aside from a few tweaks, the only thing that puzzles me is that decals don't seem to work on ships post patch. Hmm! Should be out in a week. And then on to other stuff. Quote

Does this mean that it will work perfectly on the Sp4 patch ??? As a result of all the Sp5 patch problem with mods, I have not upgraded any of my mods to the Sp5 patch, but staying with the Sp4 patch on those until these problems are resolved. Quote
