Does anyone here know what guidance the Tacit Rainbow uses and how to use it? If not, are there any other cruise missiles in WoX?

Its an anti radiation missile.

It was meant as an ARM, with a loitering capability to wait for emitters to kick back on, then attack them.

 

Currently there isnt an ability to do this. It's pretty much point and shoot.

It would be killer cool to have the capability, as it worked with fantasticly cool results in the old 7 Mhz. game, Tornado.

 

Fire in a few Alarms, ten get back into the weeds.

 

At IP, pop up to acquire targets, and get lit up by RADARs.

 

The loitering Alarms see it, and fire down into the radar emitters as you streaked in.

Shoot, the old "Megafortress" game had them...you could fire them out ahead of you and they'd fly around until they either 'saw' an emitter or you could assign them a target and they'd "seek and destroy".

 

Many a time I'd watch them on the LLTV display flying along all non-chalant, when all of a sudden they'd make a hard turn, and start heading in on radar site. Very nice

Loved the series, and all the books Dale Brown put out, but I never even got off the ground in the computer game...
