Guest pfunkmusik Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Wildly inaccurate, for starters. I don't think they're getting guided by radar, but they're being optically guided, because I get no RWR warning that anything's locked on to me. The HIPIR's tracking me, but the batteries wait until I'm literally right on top of them and then fire wildly in my general direction. My altitude and speed don't seem to make an appreciable difference, either. +Wrench Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Have you tried the 'newer' version in the Mirage Factory's Wep Pak??? They seem to be a bit better (after all, you DID ask where the originals were!!! Just funning with you Chuck!!) Wrench kevin stein Quote
Guest pfunkmusik Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Gee, Kev...I dunno what to say... How ya doin', bud? Black Sea V2.0 is coming along...slowly. pfunk Quote
+Wrench Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 To be honest, I have the same problems with the NIKEs and HAWKS...sometime they work, sometimes they don't. Fubar's our AD Guru...hopefulyy, he'll pop in and give us the skinny. Right now, I'm rebuilding the Southern California map ... retiling the San Juaquin Valley is a nightmare!! Moving target areas around, renaming, fixing a boat-load of things I just didn't know how to do before. It'll look 1000% better!!! But I got the sea level straightened out -- no more oceanic mountain at the mouth of SanFran Bay!!! Wrench kevin stein Quote
+Fubar512 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I suggest that you try the Mirage Factory's Hawks, as they're setup with period-correct missiles and fairly accurate values, right out of the box. Quote

I've got them. They're still pretty inaccurate. I get no tone warning me in the cockpit that a radar's looking at me. However, the little Roland Marder is a cast-iron witch. pfunk Quote
Guest pfunkmusik Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 On the plus side, they are engaging me from MUCH further away. pfunk Quote
Guest pfunkmusik Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 my missiles dont even show up! You have to go into the launcher's data.ini folder and adjust the type of Hawk you want it to fire. There are five to choose from. I'm currently being shot at by the E-model. pfunk Quote
Nightshade/PR Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I'm not sure just what I got right. My daughter and I (she likes watching the game) flew a SEAD mission over Germany last night with a pair of SU-39's, and even though we killed the primary target, we didn't get home. At the debrief screen, we counted 38 Sam launches, to include Hawks, Hercules', Bloodhounds, etc.. There was even 2 F-16 Block 25's in the running fight. Wingman got blown away by a Bloodhound, and we were killed on the deck after we flashed over a Hawk battery that rippled on us. Believe me, they DO work...... Quote

Guest pfunkmusik Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Hunh, mine fire...they just don't hit anything. Looks convincing as all hell, though. Kevin, Retargetization is a gigantic pain in the yehoodi. I'm still working on mine. I may get some screenies up tonight so people can see some before and after shots. It looks less lifeless, but still...y'know?! pfunk Quote
