Just cause its Russian doesnt mean its flawed. Look at the F-16, there's a reason they're called lawn darts. This is getting OT, but to be honest mate you're just ignoring the blunt obvious fact that the Russian's were thinking about quantity as opposed to quality when they produced their aircraft. Regardless of the capabilities of them, the build quality and reliability simply does not match that of western aircraft. Yes I know that was true even ten years ago, but we're talking about the Indian built SU(s) They read HAL do have good quality control. column5 62 Posted June 29, 2009 Even if HAL does have good production quality control, it can't make up for flaws in design, which is what seems to have caused this crash. Modern aircraft can't fly without their computers, so it is mind-boggling that irreversible switches to turn off that computer should be in a place that is accessible in flight. Why not behind an access panel or actually on the computer itself in the avionics bay? To lose such an expenise aircraft and a life due to misplaced and confusing switches is a real shame.
