+quack74 329 Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) Just for the hell of it here are a few photos of my 1/4 scale Dr.1. It's supposed to be 425/17, but the numbers that came with it were Fok FI 102/17 I built it last year in early '08 before I knew anything about the Dr.1. Or any WWI plane for that matter. It's about 18lbs and has a 26cc gas engine. It was a kit. Just a big box of wood. Large sets of plan to build on. Was fun to build. Took about 3 months (and all my money). Looks so awsome flying and sounds pretty good too. Very hard to fly though. I guess that would be correct . Edited May 16, 2009 by quack74
+Tailspin 3 Posted May 16, 2009 Looks great Quack. I have considered building (Or should I say trying to build ) one of the smaller electric engined models available. May take it up for a winter project this year.
Southside Bucky 1 Posted May 16, 2009 Most excellent, Quack...Got any in flight shots? Now you're something of an expert on Dr.I colour schemes, I'll bet it's really tempting to repaint it, or correct the slight inaccuracies, eh? I've got a large Triplane kit myself, although I haven't built it yet...Maybe when I retire?: It's the Hasegawa 1/8 scale 'Museum Model', which shows all the internal structure. Here's an official Hasegawa promo photo: http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/@0_ma.../fokker-18m.jpg
+quack74 329 Posted May 16, 2009 Thats a nice kit bucky. The detail looks great. You're going to need to retire to build that one I had a bunch of build photos on my cell phone. But the damn thing busted and I couldnt retrieve any photos :angry2: I dont have any inflight vids. I could make one though. Havnt been flying yet this season. VFC_Baxter 19 Posted May 16, 2009 That looks like one great plane  There was an article in our local news about a guy who flies model planes with a camera attached that takes digital photos every few seconds. He likes to take pictures of the sea shore. While looking through his photos he realised that he had caught a couple of would be vandals at work on a beach front house and the cops later arrested them. You planning on hanging a camera off of your DR1?
GreyCap 0 Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) Hey that's a great idea, you can fight crime on your spare time! Edit: maybe there's a way to make the guns functional? It would be great to shoot the bad guys in the butt Edited May 16, 2009 by GreyCap
