ktickner6767 3 Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) I have still been trying to get this radio chatter to work, without any success. I have dropped it into every sound folder I have got for my Thirdwire sims but, nothing changes. I found this video on Youtube and the creator of the video says he had to edit the "messagesystem.ini" file but, doesn't say how he edited it to get it to work. Do you have any ideas? Thanks. By the way, I have looked through the knowledge base already. There aren't detailed instructions on how to get sound mods to work there. Im guessing you have a windloop.wav - which would go into the "Sounds" folder - and in SF2 you would need to create that in your my docs folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<name>\My Documents\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Sounds Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Very interesting discovery! Apparently the sound can only be heard while you are inside the cockpit and have gained some altitude and speed. I rarely fly from inside the cockpit. I always fly with an external view. No wonder I could never hear the radio chatter. This was not clear to me. Now that I can hear the radio chatter, the audio is sped up. As if they are chipmunks. Perhaps it has something to do with how fast or slow you are flying? This is not good. I simply wanted the radio chatter to play continuously in the background at all times, if I am inside or outside the cockpit. It shouldn't matter. Perhaps this will not work for me. Too bad. The only why to control the rate, start, and end speed pf the windloop, is to modify the following entries in the aircraftobject.ini: [WindSoundOpen] MinSpeed=25.0 MinVolume=10 MinVolumeSpeed=25.0 MaxVolume=100 MaxVolumeSpeed=100.0 MinFreq=0.8 MinFreqSpeed=25.0 MaxFreq=1.6 MaxFreqSpeed=300.0 [WindSoundClosed] MinSpeed=100.0 MinVolume=0 MinVolumeSpeed=100.0 MaxVolume=80 MaxVolumeSpeed=300.0 MinFreq=0.8 MinFreqSpeed=100.0 MaxFreq=1.6 MaxFreqSpeed=300.0 Speeds are in meters oer second (adjust as needed), and the MinReq and MaxFreq values need to be adjusted to "1.0".
