lleviatan Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Hello The radar-guided missiles fail in 99% of cases and their coverage is very limited. This is a normal error or simulated? buscar Quote
+MigBuster Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 No they do work if they are fired correctly. Which missile are you taking about? - what radar does your jet use? - any thing before the AIM-7M was pretty useless anyway - also what are you firing against?? - if the enemy jet has ECM / chaff then theres a good chance you wont hit anything. any SAHM missile fired from distance wont work against an enemy AI with a RWR who can break the lock easily rendering the missile useless. lleviatan Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 I mean the family of the AIM-7 in SF2 with the most doficultad after coupling with the radar and shoot at the optimum range, the missile travels less than a mile, operating or is not directed toward the target Quote
jomni Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Some tips here. http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2343 Quote
+Fubar512 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I don't know about that. Try flying any MiG-21 variant (even "during" the mid 1960s through the early 1970s), and you'll find the AIM-7s to quite a pain. So much so, in fact, that the only solution available to you is to fly at tree top level until your opponents have exhausted their sparrows. Quote
Lt. James Cater Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 You might be doing something seriously wrong because even in the worst of scenarios radar guided missles can score more often than not. Quote

Didn't TK mention somewhere recently that highly-skilled AIs get a missile accuracy bonus and that he's planning to remove it some time? Could explain why flying versus blue is that much pain - higher average training levels boost missile accuracy. Quote

Their R-27s are quite accurate, as well. Quote

I find that in Bunyap's and TMF's weapons packs, I have more problems with accuracy with anything that's not an AIM-120 when I'm flying, than against the AI when it's using BVR missiles. And it's not like I don't know how to use them. The R-27s are a great example of this for me. When used properly, mine get spoofed prolly 7 out of ten times. When the AI uses them, I have to evade like madman to avoid them. Maybe their use by the AI is simplified or something?? Hey Gr. Viper, could that AI bonus be relative to the nations.ini? I know there's an entry in there for pilot skill ranging from excellent through poor... Quote
