kurfurst Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Hi. Here's very strange problem with Kfir C7 of Mirage Factory. The plane is transparent, cockpit and hud are seperated. Same problem with MF's Kfir F-21A, but no problem with Mig-29. I've test with WOE and SFP1 clean install with official updates only. Any Suggestion Would Be Appreciated. +daddyairplanes Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 i'm interested in the answer myself. went to change over the EF-4C from coulumn 5's site followed the directons in th KB and got the same results in SF2E. did not load it in my WOE though and deleted it of comp since im still learnin stuff trial and error. at time thought it was procedure i had done though it was amusing to watch a flight of sparrows ecm and shrikes in formation. snapper 21 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Hi Kurfurst Have tried the C7 in SF2 WOE and SF1 WOE DS install, both work fine. All I can suggest is that your download is somehow corrupt. Maybe try downloading it again? Try downloading this file http://www.column5.us/cgi-bin/counters/uni...fir-C7_V1.0.exe daddyairplanes, to get the EF-4C working, I think you would need the Lod files from a SF1 game extracted from the Objects file, an then placed into the EF-4C folder in your SF-2 mods folder. Havent tested this yet though, and am pretty sure the cockpit would also be missing some files. Cheers Snapper 21 Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 appreciate the tip snapper. EF-4C was the second plane i tried converting and was still figuring out quite a bit. have thought since to take SF2 stock F-4C and files from EF-4C. like the look of everything in gen2 better but alas no multiplayer. +Fubar512 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 It appears that you have either forgotten to transfer the model's lod file over, or you've edited out the pertinent line in the model.ini file Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 hey guys could you help kurfurst? he started the thread. i thought i might get some knowledge as well and had a similar(but not the exact same) issue. kurfurst sorry if it seems i hijacked your thread. Quote
+Fubar512 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 AFAIK, I've altready posted the two areas that he needs to look at. Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 sorry fubar it was posted. been a screwy day and my internets up and down so i haven't read whole thing ea time like usual. it had seemed like everyone was focusing on me and it wasn't my original thread. Quote
kurfurst Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 Thanks for help guys! I tested with the other computer yesterday and same result :( @snapper 21 I've downloaded them countless times already from various sources. @Fubar512 I don't know about lod files..just didn't touch anything from original files. @daddyairplanes Thanks for keeping the thread alive! +Fubar512 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Look in your WOE/Objects/Aircraft/F-21A folder, and see if the .lod files are in there. Quote
kurfurst Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 (edited) Look in your WOE/Objects/Aircraft/F-21A folder, and see if the .lod files are in there. looks like they are... Edited August 10, 2009 by kurfurst Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 @kurfurst you might wanna look in your ini files and see if they are pointing to the correct place to find the lod files. had to do that a month ago to get my mavericks to show up. know roughly how to do it but i think snapper or fubar could put it into words better. if you dont get a response when i am off for the night i'll go through it in my mavvericks again so i can actually elaborate on the process Quote
snapper 21 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Sorry Kurfurst I thought I had it, but it was just the folder order was different. All I can say is, that I downloded it from Column5s site and it worked with no problems without having to change anything. Not much help I know. Cheers Snapper 21 Quote

kurfurst Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) Simple Solution. Example) open F-14(example).INI find LOD section Delete LOD2 LOD3 LOD4 except LOD 1. and type like this [LOD001] Filename=F-14A.lod Distance=10000 Problem solved. sorry for my bad english. Thanks for your help but I just solved it another way. I changed the 'Language for non-Unicode programs' option (in XP) from 'Korean' to 'English' and it worked. One guy in a Korean forum told me that some language-specific characters (such as umlaut in German) are not supported correctly when this option is set to certain languages including Korean (even when using English version of Windows, like me), and this causes many problems with games and other apps. In this case there might be such characters in aircraft files. (maybe French? I'm not sure). Thanks again for all of your help guys. Now I'm flying with this beauty.
