How to get to 17 hours without really trying...?

Recommended Posts

Pretty new here, just got my disc last week.

I joined Shusta 6 on 1 Jan 1917, and have flown 10 or so missions without seeing a single enemy AC nor any ACs other than those of my group. Included were 4 scramble missions, also without seeing any enemies.

At first I assumed the bad weather was keeping the scouts grounded but now I'm not sure.

So do I have a problem? I'm using the superpatch and the newest minipatch.

Thanks,

Ben

I have a pilot in Schusta 6 at that time, and his life is pretty boring. He got shot down once by AAMGs on a bombing mission but was able to get home in 2 days. And that was the only bombing mission I've done so far (I'm like 6 missions into it now). All the rest have been recons and arty spots, where I've just run from the enemy most of the time. I tried to catch some Strutters once and got shot up for my trouble, and I tried to fight some Camels once but my escorts killed them before I could really get into the fight.

I really wish there were dedicated bomber squadrons that did nothing else, leaving the boring recon and arty spotting missions to dedicated observation squadrons.

Hi Ben,

Try a different period, or squad.

Ben, I recommend the area around Arras - Douai, in April 1917 or later.

You should see action there.

When you choose a Squad./Staffel, check, if they are "offensive" or "defensive" and their

morale (you see that in the Squad. choice window, at the right blackboard.

Hi again, Ben, and welcome here in OFF!

Here is a link to a map, where you can search for Squadrons and Jastas.

Unclick those nation emblems you don't want, then decide in left window,

if you search by Squadron, aerodrome, etc.

When you search around Lens - Arras - Ypres - Douai - Cambrai, you will

find more action. In 1916, it was still quieter, 1917 is more, and 1918 most

action. If you want to start moderate, I recommend September 1916.

French: Nieuport 11; Britain: Sopwith Pup; Germany: Albatros DII

Have fun!

Right, or Jasta 10, same time, same field.

Right... or you can fly like Göring (Fat Bastard) did... above the fight and 'over look' everything like a real hardened veteran... trying to make sure all of his 'pupils' did everything according to his instructions.

Then come home and stake claim to the dead squadmates kills.

Wouldn't surprise me much - he was a "Herrenmensch" and liked to dominate.

But I'll shoot him down each time I meet him, now that I know where he is!
