Ahit vs. Ayit

Recommended Posts

It's one ini edit, one renamed file and one renamed folder in the worst case scenario.

And that is my point. It will just be an ini edit if TK doesn't change it. Although I agree it should be Ayit, its not a show stopper.

Nonsense. Getting the name right is a bit more fundamental than that.

And I'm quite sure you'd have a different view if an Israeli software house had called the B-52 Stratofartress.

So, to quote yourgoodself Dave, we'll agree to disagree!

The problem with what you are saying is no one has argued what the spelling is of Stratofortress. I have books that have both spellings of the Ahit, Ayit. I am not saying the spelling should not be looked at but I would rather have the sim out and working right, then it getting stalled because of an something that does not seem to have a definative answer. Once again though I am convinced it should be Ayit, but who am I? Its just my opinion based on the evidence supplied from the post at Thirdwire. If it can go either way then I am not going to be upset about it.

Nor me, I'll just do the ini. edit thing.

Right on! But anyone who has seen that thread does have to admit, it is intersting and I learned something.

I agree Dave and I also agree it should be Ayit, but like what was posted above, its just some edits to make it change.

If I were a purist, I will prefer using the Hebrew alphabet itself. grin.gif

Will these characters work work in the SF2 series?

I have failed to change the 'Ahit' characters into Hebrew characters with WOI.

Should be written "עיט".

I get the same thing when I try to add Russian names. And German town names on the Europe map don't display correctly. Not much use in unicode support :(

Even the Danger sign in Hebrew Characters on the right side of the "Ayit" skin (on the air inlet) is in mirror script.

Should be written "סכנה".

This is while the 'rescue' sign (in English) is writtn correctly both sides of the skin.

The correct left side.

Mirror script right side.

guyran,

The stencils on the wings (spoilers and ailerons) are mirrored, too. I corrected those issues while I was working on the A-4N conversion (which is currently on hold). The rescue arrow may need an overhaul, but I'll try to upload the replacement bmps this weekend.

Thanks Norbert,

Good job. :drinks:

I hope TK will notice, so you don't have to repeat it with the upcoming SF2 Israel.

Thanks! Well, as long as there is something to fix, I wouldn't mind fixing it again.

BTW, check PM, I've got some work for you! :wink2:
