Olham 164 Posted October 1, 2009 Wrote this in another thread but thought, some of you might want to see DVDs from other code regions. Hey, you guys - almost all DVD player's Regional code can be C H A N G E D ! Just Google the name of your player, plus: "change regional code", or "codefree"and you will definitely get a simple instruction. On my CyberHome CH-DVD 505, it was a simple thing: 1. Press open/close 2. Menue - press: 1 1 1 1 3. Press "Enter" 4. enter the desired code 5. Press "Return" Later, you do the same procedure again, to change back. Childsplay. (This is for the CyberHome - please google for your model). PS: Learnt that, cause I stumbled over a cheap offer of all the "Avengers" DVDs with Diana Rigg. I had to have them. Next on the list: Blackadder
Shaolin 0 Posted October 1, 2009 Careful, as far as I know the number of changes is limited! (Don't know if it is still that way with the modern players, but be careful...)
flynn 0 Posted October 1, 2009 Should be OK if you change it to 'Multi-Region', in other words region free. I changed my Phillips DVD HDR a while back using this site: http://www.regionfreedvd.net/player/philips.html
Von Paulus 8 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Careful, as far as I know the number of changes is limited! (Don't know if it is still that way with the modern players, but be careful...) Olham was referring to unlocking DVD in order to be region free permanently. There is no problem only you've got to know the right code for your brand and model. But on some model, specially Sony, it requires more than a simple code to unlock. Google the internet for region free and your model and the answer is there. EDIT: Right flynn. +Polovski 460 Posted October 1, 2009 The point is it's region "free", so you should never need to change it again anyway.
Cavaliere57 0 Posted October 1, 2009 The point is it's region "free", so you should never need to change it again anyway. Quite right,he's referring to home DVD players, once region free you are done,no more needs to change anything else,it's an old trick But even with PC's DVD burner/readers, it's a piece of cake,no risk of getting an "ashtray".....
