Duce Lewis 3 Posted October 2, 2009 I usuually fly Summer/Fall 1918 and get a steady diet of Se5s, Camels, & Spads Installed 1.32g mini patch and the created a new Jasta 11 pilot Surprise, surprise! I ran into 2 flights of Nieuport 17's Not sure if N.17's were around on June 1st 1918? Met Nieups again on my 3rd mission Anyone know if this is correct? jetdriver 0 Posted October 2, 2009 All the references I could find indicate that the 17 was in French service until October '17 at the latest. The 17 was phased out by the SPAD VII. Only the British used some 24bis (pretty similar to the 17) until early '18. So, it seems like a 'bug'. Should this be reported to the OFF developers? shredward 12 Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) You undoubtedly saw a stand-in for a later Noop flying in one of the backwater French outfits - there were still a few Noop equipped Escadrilles into the summer of '18. The last RFC outfit phased them out in April or May '18 (not home, so I can't check my files). Late model Noops coming soon to a screen near you. Cheers, shredward Edited October 2, 2009 by shredward
Olham 164 Posted October 2, 2009 Well, the word "bug" is definitely coming too easy sometimes. I could imagine, that they where used instead of the not yet available N 24 or 28. I find it better to have a similar opponent than none at all. And soon, we will have some of such gaps filled with new craft.

Cheers, shredward I hope it is a stand-in It was a fun surprise to see the Nieups I had labels on and it showed as a "Nieuport 17" Should a stand-in label say "Nieuport 24"? Can't wait for those new Nieuports Whatever it takes, I'm gonna master that rotary N.
+Polovski 460 Posted October 3, 2009 It will likely say N17 - it's not a duplicate model it IS the N17 but flying for a N23/24 whatever. Nieuports should be VERY well covered in the next pack.
