Ship Sinking Effects

Recommended Posts

I know only the stock ships like the Cargo Ship, and Tanker have Destroyed Lods. But is there a way to change the way a ship such as the Akagi sinks from just disappearing, to actually having a sinking effect?

Thanks

in each ships data ini, is this statement (well, in most cases)

[GroundObjectData]

DamagedModel=

DestroyedModel=Akagi

DestroyedEffect=LargeOilFire <-- change to whatever you want effect

SinkTime=120.0<-- time is in seconds

EmptyMass=37545454.45

Too slow the sinking time down just add the the following to [GroundObjectdata].

[GroundObjectData]

DamagedModel=

DestroyedModel=Akagi-R3b.lod

DestroyedEffect=LargeOilFire

SecondEffect=AmmoDumpExplosion or ( VehicleFireEffect )

SecondChange=100

SinkTime=20.0

EmptyMass=37545454.45

Note the SecondEffect will give you a bigger explosion.

It's SecondaryEffectChance= . Anything else don't work

Also, for primay, the 'ShipDestroyedEffect' or "TankerDestroyeEffect" gives that nice oil slick on the water

AmmoDumpExplosion give a NICE big boom; but using the LargeOilFireEffect gives that towering column of black roiling smoke.

It's your choice.

However, you're forgetting the main issue with CVs -- they're unvulnerable. You can't sink them due to the existence of the flight deck mesh. With that, you can takeoff and land. Without it, you fall into the water at mission start.

Hence, the reason I created the ***_T carriers you see in the Okinawa upgrade. They're just warships, and have had the flight deck mesh removed, making them destroyable.

Hello Wrench

I'm looking for a ship and sink effects.

I made a model of my ship damaged and does not appear, only the destroyed.

How can I fix it?

[GroundObjectData]

DamagedModel=\Prestige\Prestige_dañado.LOD <--This model does not work

DestroyedModel=\Prestige\Prestige_d.LOD

DestroyedEffect=TankerDestroyedEffect

SecondaryEffect=ShipDestroyedEffect

SinkTime=170.0

EmptyMass=80000000.00

Component[001]=Hull

Component[002]=Superstructure

Thanks

Looks like the path is too long...maybe???

amagedModel=\Prestige\Prestige_dañado.LOD

lose the first callout, make sure the damaged model is in the MAIN folder, and try that. Same for the destroyed.

Worth experimentating with, at least!! I know only the stock CargoShip and Tanker seem to show damaged models; tried making one for the KriegDestroyer and LibertyShip, and they never worked!

Thanks a lot Wrench, Thanks Shaolin.

I've tried and there is no case.

Change the name to the shortest. The folder and nothing changed.

Only appears Lod destroyed.

I would probably continue to sink effects.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

Thank you very much guys
