I havent tried EE2. I used to play Enemy Engaged back in the days but everyone tells me to stay off EE2. Whats so bad about it?
Gr.Viper 131 Posted November 28, 2009 (edited) There nothing new there, 'cause it's "developed" by people who only know how to code graphics and net code. If you want gameplay improvements you want fan modded EECH. Edited November 28, 2009 by Gr.Viper

shotdown 8 Posted November 28, 2009 Il-2 Sturmovik has dynamic campaigns too. About EE and EE2, EE2 has better graphics. Fan EE has better evreything else.
Lexx_Luthor 57 Posted November 30, 2009 I suggest Lowengrin's 3rd Party independent dynamic campaign engine for IL-2/Forgotten Battles. To some degree Lowengrin saved this game for offline players -- as IL-2 Online War creators saved the game for those who like dynamic online war campaigns. Lowengrin ~> http://www.lowengrin.com/news.php Very interesting that Lowengrin makes only an "editor" for the SF series. A non-stock dynamic campaign is not possible because of the lack of a map-wide text file combat event recorder for all units (not just player squadron). That's why I never even tried an SF campaign. I eventually will program my own in FORTRAN, some decades from now at the rate I'm going, by manually counting units after a game mission. Its the only way I know. Lexx_Luthor 57 Posted November 30, 2009 I must have Poasting Disorder (PD). I don't do SF campaigns because for the campaign I'm (slowly) developing -- which is the only reason I'm into the SF -- I don't want the player squadron to have game outcome preference over other air units. Surface units obviously are different since they are not playable, but I won't be using them much. It all might work good enough though. I really don't want to program a campaign engine. Capitaine Vengeur 263 Posted November 30, 2009 There nothing new there, 'cause it's "developed" by people who only know how to code graphics and net code. If you want gameplay improvements you want fan modded EECH. By the way, I enjoy heavily modded EECH, but just hate the default keyboard configuration. Is there a way to adjust your own keyboard/ joystick/ throttle/ pedals configuration?
Gr.Viper 131 Posted November 30, 2009 IIRC, you can tweak axis setup in eech.ini, but as for keys custom joystick profile is your only help. I bound a ton of functions on my X-52 for EECH and it seemed to work out pretty well.
OvS 8 Posted December 1, 2009 Self-plugging our game here, but if you like WWI crates, OFF is a must. It's Campaign engine will have you flying escort, recon, attack, defend, scramble, balloon busting, ground strafing, Lone Wolf (pre-1918) aerodrome attacks... etc.. etc. It's a mixed bag every time and a load of fun. Lexx_Luthor 57 Posted December 2, 2009 What did you program OFF campaign with? More than anything I wish we could do that. Teh SF is my *only* computer game, no time for anything else hehe..
OvS 8 Posted December 2, 2009 What did you program OFF campaign with? More than anything I wish we could do that. Teh SF is my *only* computer game, no time for anything else hehe.. Honestly I don't know. I skin, do the sounds and emblems... so I have no idea how the rest is done. But I have to say, however Winder does it... he does it very well. It's pretty amazing how much variety there is in OFF as far as mission choice. And if you don't like the flight route, you can keep pressing 'select new target' until you get a target/route that you like. For years the hard-core RB3D'ers have been trying to put OFF in it's place behind it, but I think after this next add-on patch, that will be impossible. You really have no clue as to what mission you will fly, and even if you get the same mission the next day, nothing is scripted so you have no idea what will happen during the flight. It's level of immersion is extremely addicting. OvS
