MAKO69 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) Lost a wingman today. Went up North on Ironhand. We were off the Oriskany, VA-164. Well I'll keep it short we pounded the hell out of the NVA AAA sites. Here's to Ens. Foster Flynn. I put him in for a Navy cross. He was later awarded the M.O.H. MAKO69 Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Ens Flynn. A young vibrant soul. He will be missed. Here is a candid photo after his 1st mission, he was so excited to write his girl back in Boston Mass about his 1st mission, they were to mary when he got back home. 1 more of him about 20 mikes after wheels up on the mission before his last (this was his 21st mission he was KIA on his 22nd). That pic of the guy you have is Sgt Pitensbarger. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_H._Pitsenbarger It was cool of TK to include him. Was a hell of a warrior. Quote
+NeverEnough Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Thanks for posting the link to his story. Obviously, he was quite a guy! How in the world did it take 44 years to do the right thing and award him the medal he so deserved? Quote

macelena Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Major Dick Winters is still waiting! If it´s assault on Brecourt is a textbookcase on how to assault a fortified position, it should also be a textbook case of how to earn a MOH Quote
