I saw last night Canada - Russia.

Poor Russians...

I saw also USA - Canada and was surprised with the US cold efficiency.

Are the quarterfinals decided with just one game?

Well.. here's last night...

And if anybody cares, the gold medal game of women's hockey is tonight (sadly not televised due to friggin' figure skating and curling). US vs. Canada, who have outscored their previous opponents 40-2 and 46-2 to get to this point.

My question is Billiards an event in the Summer Olympics, and if not, why not.?

I'm holding out for tiddly winks myself lol.gif

It's going to be a very tough match. The Yanks have put together quite a team. But I'm confident we'll send them off to play for the bronze medal.

But whatever happens, at least we did better than the Swedes.

Well that game was a real bummer. Well we see in the bronze games...

Yikes... I'm shocked as well... I didn't expect a win, let a lone a rout. Seems goal tending in Olympic Hockey has gone to the dogs.

Dont tell our boy Miller that (0 goals allowed in last 2 games) good.gif

Canada "Squeeks" by the slovaks 3-2 in a game they dominated for the first 50 minutes.

Canada - USA rematch. Should be a good one. Lets hope anyway! Goooooo USA!!! Salute.gif

+1

I fully expected USA would win today but I did not expect that first period. Sunday is going to be fun.

I've rarely seen them play THAT badly. It was embarrassing to watch those grannies fumble on the ice. And many of them are supposed to be experienced players who've seen it all and did well in their careers (in the NHL for example). Just unbelievable. You'd expect some kind of standards from the Olympic team. One of them should be taken behind the nearest sauna and shot as an example for the rest of the team.

From a Canadian's perspective, the American team should be really happy with itself regardless of Sunday's outcome. They've played well beyond what the roster would suggest was possible. (After all, it's in transition - Chelios, Tkachuk, Weight, et al, being gone.) And, statistics aside, it isn't just Miller.

But Canada is Canada. This includes the historical pressure, home ice or not, but also the fact that there is always a Crosby or two, supported by a cast of Nash's, Iginla's, Weber's, Heatley's etc., etc., etc. Moreover, while merely favoured teams like the Russians or Finns usually show up to play, Canada does it every time.

So, my American friends and neighbours: you might win and you might lose, but, respectfully, it will be nothing like playing Norway..... for either of us.

Cheers,

I would agree...Sunday's game is going to be a slugfest.

As an American however, I would avoid any Canadian gatherings if the US wins. My personal theory is that Canadians are nice because they let out all their violence through hockey.
