Do aircrafts disappear on ground ?

Two AN-24 were landing on an airstrip ( no airfield )

The first had a few gun hits, then my ammo was out.

 

So I tried to finish them with Mav's on the ground. After

the turn I could lock the first while it was just rolling to

parking place. But I was too close and low to fire.

 

After the 2. turn both AN24 were not to spot as if the

earth had swallowed them up. Is this a bug in the game ?

 

Otherwise I could destroy a parked MIG21 with a MK82

on an airfield.

 

Does anyone know more or had similar situations ?

Yes and unfortunately that's the way, AFAIK, the AI works, even with your own wingman and squadron mates, they just land and dissapear, unless somebody know a way to fix it, if there's any...

All AI aircraft disappear after they land. It's been that way since the series was first released, back in 2002.

Is this supposed to be in the Falcon 4 forum?

 

In Falcon 4 AF planes often land and then taxi to a parking space, where they sit for a time period until the game removes them - cant say I have sat and timed them.

 

but yeah if this in the SF series then what FB said above
