Unique skin for each plane?

Recommended Posts

Hello gents,

After lurking a long time I have finally ordered OFF. :good:

Its a beauty that really works fine compared to Phase 1 and 2!

I have a question tough.

Flying campaign, quick combat or in any mode I do not get a unique skin for EACH plane involved.

My plane\flight has same skins, the other flight have theirs and thats it. Or is it?

Is it possible? When yes, any selections anywhere?

Cheers, Trebb.

You must choose "Personal Skin" in "Workshop" (bottom, center, I think).

You have to give up "Fuel management" for it - your decision.

Trebby, please send me a PM with your town and country - I want to add you to

the OFF Forum Pilots World maps. Thanks!

The HitR Expansion Pack has an option for a unique Player Skin

But it's a trade-off

If you select Unique Skin in Workshop, then you loss the ability to specify Fuel and Ammo Load %

The Devs are trying to find a fix where we can have both options

Thanks for the swift responses gents,

Another question springs to mind:

can I adjust my FF joystick to have more aerodynamic "load"?

I selected FF in the menu, but its only noticable effect is on takeoff and when firing the guns.

Whilst flying it feels like a.... wel a dead fish I suppose.

Thanks Trebb

Thanks for the FF info,

But it works good on other games. Must be some ini file that needs adjusting.

Will see if I can find something.

Cheers, Trebb

Would be great, if you found it, Trebby, but it might be a tricky matter.

Otherwise, the devs would have fixed it, I believe.

Well actually the flying circus is not out entirely. Try J11 etc and take off with an Ace flight along side your flight - usually if we have made the ace skins they will be wearing them and we have made well over 4000 unique skins so far. But YOUR flight has the same squadron skin (i.e. they are not aces), and if you have HITR expansion you can have a unique skin too.

If you look in the aircraft.cfg file for whatever plane you are concerned with, I think you will find some settings for FF. For example, for the Alb DIII, there is a section labeled [forcefeedback]. You could try raising the setting for "stick_shaker_magnitude" from 5000 to 10000 to see what happens. However, I don't have FF and I have never attempted to tinker with those settings. If you decide to do so, make sure you back up the .cfg file first!

Great suggestions guys!

Now that I also got HitR today  I will check skin options asap.

Am I the only one having virtually no aerodynamic loads of FF users?

I am not revering to gun firing, ground roll and (I think)gusts.

Just the usual cruizing along nicely and even when manoevring the FF is (apart from aforementioned effects) without noticable FF.

The game is awsome, dont get me wrong, just finetuning a feature wich may be my setup anyway...

Cheerz, trebb

Perhaps you must allow for Force Feedback?

Did you check "Workshop" settings?

Good show on getting HitR trebb!

FFB is not very strong for me either

Not sure if it depends on the stick or not

I have a MS Sidewinder, strong MG Fire, and great Stall Shudder. but the Flight Control FFB is weak

I can actually feel the stick go limp when the OFF Manager fires up cfs3

So you're not alone with FFB issues

This might be a good issue to run a Poll on

The Devs love Polls as an overall view of issues/opinions

Well Olham and Duce,

I definately put FF on in workshop panel, and have drivers for FF installed. I have an MS FF2, no probs with other sims.

Actually in vanilla CFS3 I get better response on the "regular" aerodynamic loads. :dntknw:

I answered the new poll, maybe something constructive comes out...

Cheers, trebb

Ok gents, I did some comparing (OFF-CFS3vanilla-MAW) and testing on my system:

(Win7Home, DualIntel 3.4Ghz, SLI 275, 8Gb ram, MS FF2)

My 5 cents:

1. FF of vanilla CFS3 is NOT superior. Same weak control loads. (could not even spin those craft :boredom: )

2. At times (not everytime...) the stick goes dead just before "WW1 scenery loading" screen, at times at OFF startup...

3. Pronounced FF on groundroll and on firing.

4. Medium FF on stalling.

5. Light to very light FF on controls/aerodynamical loads (most of the time...).

I wish point 5. was more pronounced. Then again, its not a perfect world (but almost so  )

Off to the meatgrindler!

Cheerio, trebb.

Nb1. Will transfer feedback to poll threat, where this topic seems more appropriate...

Nb2. If ya havent yet, check this: (utube DF)
