Yesterday I was wondering about all the planes that are in the works and I'ld like to fly (and maybe to skin) one of these days ....

... my favourite are the Buc, the Alpha Jet and the Magister, but there is a nice soviet early plane that I'ld like very much to use in our sim, too:

the YAK-23 FLORA

post-5138-12694679682192.jpg

This plane was made by Yakolev after the smaller Yak-15 (done) and was in service with several Warsaw Pact air forces before the Mig-15.

Has anyone this model in the makings ? Could anyone make this little (red) bird ?

There is a good model for MS Flight Sim somewhere ....

I'm only a learnig painter but I'ld be here to help the brave who would like to do the job.

Let me know modders ...

Guest rscsjsuso5

we haven't developed this aircraft yet but for an alternative model you migth subsititue it for a mig 9 fargo and do some little tweaks to make it a yak23 like maybe skin or you can contact the mig 9 creator for the 3dmax file to edit to make it more like the yak23 and thus template.

The natural 'fake Yak-23' should be the Yak-15 ... but I mean a 'real' Yak-23 not a place holder ....

This is a interesting bird, would like to see all versions ;-)

This is from Wiki

Variants (look at above picture):

Yak-23 Fighter version, serial built.

Yak-23UTI Two-seat training version with longer fuselage and lighter armament, prototype only.

Yak-23DC Romanian-built two-seat training version. Four Yak-23 single-seaters were converted in 1956 by ASAM Pipera, two of them belonging to the Bulgarian AF.

S-101 Czech designation.

N.B. It was developed from Yak-17, very similar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakovlev_Yak-17

Operators:

Bulgaria

Bulgarian Air Force received at least 12 aircraft in 1949.

Czechoslovakia

Czechoslovak Air Force received 20 aircraft in 1949.

Poland

Polish Air Force received about 100 aircraft operated between 1950 and 1961

Romania

Romanian Air Force received 62 aircraft in 1951, used them until 1958

Soviet Union

Soviet Air Force operated aircraft between 1949 and 1951

Here for some skins suggestions http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww3/f/45/1

I'm happy to see your interest!

This is the father of all them

The Messerschmitt P-1106

Gracias Marcos!

You are right they are very similar ...

... except the german style arrow wing first introduced with Mig-15.

The Yak-15 and 17 had a Junkers Jumo engine, too. The main difference between Yak-15 and Yak-17 was nose wheel for the Yak-17.

The Yak-23 had a beeter Rolls Royce Derwent V engine.

Oh, men! I love early jet combat much more than modern one, so please, contact the model owner and ask permission to release it as beta, or ask him (humbly, of course) to finish the model.

PS: pssszzz LOL

By the way, I think the model is from Pasko. It's a project announced in Pasko's site. So, please, contact him!
