My MS Sidewinder produces very strong MG and Stall Shudders but the Flight Control FFB is near non-existant

I've got a Logitech Force 3D Pro so I can adjust the settings via the Forecware software. So I have no issues.

With my MS Sidewinder 2 the MG, Stall and Landing effects are very strong (infact at night time I worry that the rumble of the joystick will wake people up lol.gif ) - but there is no return-to-centre what so ever, so (pardon the innuendo) my stick is limp.

this happens 9 out of 10 times I play OFF, the other 1 time it will have return-to-centre power, but none of the effects will work (like MG shake, etc.)

Sounds like a good stick Barkhorn

One thing I really like about the Sidewinder is the Stall Shudder is so strong (and early), most stalls can be avoided

Does the Logitech give similar performance here?

Ok gents, I did some comparing (OFF-CFS3vanilla-MAW) and testing on my system:

(Win7Home, DualIntel 3.4Ghz, SLI 275, 8Gb ram, MS FF2)

My 5 cents:

1. FF of vanilla CFS3 is NOT superior. Same weak control loads. (could not even spin those craft )

2. At times (not everytime...) the stick goes dead just before "WW1 scenery loading" screen, at times at OFF startup...

3. Pronounced FF on groundroll and on firing.

4. Medium FF on stalling.

5. Light to very light FF on controls/aerodynamical loads (most of the time...).

I wish point 5. was more pronounced. Then again, its not a perfect world (but almost so )

Off to the meatgrindler!

Cheerio, trebb.

Trebby:

Don't believe there is a solution other than a new stick that will allow you to adjust the effects outside the sim.

There's not really enough info here to see any patterns

Only thing that can be said so far is the Logitech Force 3D Pro JS seems to have the best Flight Control FFB

Would really appreciate some more input

Replies aren't necessary just a vote will help

Cheers,

Word around the campfire is: The Logitech G940 is a waste of $300, as the pedals don't have the same responsivness after three months of use

http://www.amazon.co...69998904&sr=1-5

When first released it sounded like a Home Run . . . . Let the buyer Beware

Logically speaking it would probably do fine with Jets, or IL-2. But nothing in WW1

Ive had the G940 for months and everything still works like new and I have put in a lot of flying time. My only criticism of the g940 is the less than ideal driver support for Window 7. They are supposedly doing a major driver overhaul, but that will take months if not a year to roll out. All said and done, it is the best system I have ever used.
