Slartibartfast Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_13 Damn I didn't realise it was so long ago... and where are we now in the exploration of Space ??? Quote
+Dave Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Still one of my favorites reads of all time. I mean what everyone did to bring that capsule home was amazing. Quote
+JediMaster Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 For a budget of about $20bn/yr, we could have gone back there in 10 years. Instead, we needed to give $80bn to AIG and billions more to stupid corporations for literally NO return. NASA will get $18bn/yr and lose the ability to send humans into space, instead holding a ticket to get on the Hogwarts Express from Pad 9 3/4 to the ISS whenever one of these commercial companies actually gets a rocket up, let alone a capsule to carry people. It's disgusting. Quote
xclusiv8 Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Its kinda bad that space exploration has been on a stand still since then. I guess without any effective means of transportation we will be stuck in our little corner of the solar system and galaxy. Quote
