ShrikeHawk Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) I'm playing the War of Independence campaign addon for SF2:I. Every single mission I've played so far has overcast skies. Is that deliberate? Edited August 2, 2010 by ShrikeHawk Quote
Fubar512 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 The overcast or inclement chance value may be set too high. Quote
+Kulbit80 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I have noticed same issue. Only in this campaign. And i don't think it's chance value setting. Any other ideas? Quote
ShrikeHawk Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 Can the overcast chance setting be campaign-specific? Quote
Fubar512 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Its terrain specific, but if one sets the overcast or inclement chance too high coniciding with the set time & duration of a campaign, then you'll wind up with those results. If I were to redo it, I'd google "Tel Aviv, average sunshine by month", or something along those lines, to get an idea of what to set the values to. Quote

I didn't realize it could set based upon a time as well. What value in the terrain files do I need to look at? Is this in <terrain name>.ini? Quote
Stick Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 yep; eg- [WeatherChance] OvercastChance=25 BrokenChance=45 ScatteredChance=22 InclementChance=8 Quote
+allenjb42 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 IIRC the campaign is set in the winter months isn't it? And Israel doesn't always have clear blue skies at that time of year anyway. Quote
eraser_tr Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 It's set in october. I'm playing through that campaign now and I've been getting mostly broken or scattered clouds if any at all. Quote
ShrikeHawk Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 What's the difference in your configuration, eraser_tr? I've only seen one kind of sky, overcast. Quote
ShrikeHawk Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 Okay, this is everything that's in my IsraelME.ini file... [Terrain] TerrainFullName=Israel, Middle East DataFile=IsraelME_data.ini TargetFile=IsraelME_targets.ini TargetTypeFile=IsraelME_types.ini MovementFile=IsraelME_movement.ini NationsFile=IsraelME_nations.ini BriefingText=IsraelME_briefing.ini DogfightFile=IsraelME_dogfight.ini DogfightOnly=FALSE Longitude=34.80 Latitude=32.08 LimitedNations=TRUE GroundObjectTexture=tan [Map] FilenameFormat=IsraelME_Map%d.bmp Width=1000000.0 Height=1000000.0 NumZoomLevels=3 [WeatherChance] ScatteredChance=45 BrokenChance=30 OvercastChance=10 InclementChance=5 [AllowedDates] StartDate=1947 EndDate=2050 I changed the WeatherChance values to what you see from this in the original... [WeatherChance] ScatteredChance=25 BrokenChance=25 OvercastChance=4 InclementChance=2 Why am I still only seeing Overcast in the campaign? Any ideas? Quote
