Dysko 93 Posted September 13, 2010 Last weekend, the Italian display team Frecce Tricolori celebrated its 50th anniversary in their home base at Rivolto. Many display teams from Europe were present, along with some airplanes used by the RSV - Reparto Sperimentale Volo (Experimental Flying Wing, a wing tasked with "pushing the envelope" of the airplanes used by the Italian Air Force). Unfortunately, due to some problems with the shuttles, I was unable to get there when the show started, so I missed the display of the RSV's MB.339CD and Tornado IDS, and the Polish display team Iskry. Here are some photos from the show: The tail of the Tornado IDS during taxi Croatian display team Krila Ojule RSV's AMX Then some pause, but some helicopters were in the air, like this AB.212 and this Nardi NH-500 (Italian license-built version of the MD-500) A Boeing 767 used by the Italian Air Force for crew training for the KC-767 tanker A Patrulla Aguila CASA C.101 and a Team Iskry TS-11 Iskra parked The pause is over, the Royal Jordanian Falcons take off! The Aermacchi M.346. Maybe we'll see it in Frecce Tricolori livery one day... Patrulla Aguila I was not in the center of the display line, so the crossings are not so good from my position Dedicated to all the women of the forum RSV's C-27J Spartan doing fighter-like maneuvers! Roll! You rarely see a transport plane inverted Patrouille Suisse Patrouille de France Last solo display of the day: RSV's Eurofighter Typhoon Flag pass And the protagonists of the day! Tail slide The MB.339 is the only jet-powered airplane in the world able to perform this maneuver: the lomcevak! And the final pass. Sorry for "strange" colours, but the original photo was almost white due to the smoke left from previous passes

Derk 265 Posted September 13, 2010 Where were the Red Arrows ??? Long time ago at the annual Sanicole Airshow in Belgium, the Frecce Tricolori finished their show with the traditional slow dirty pass along the (grass)runway with a lot of power and DENSE smoke, with the Red Arrows starting their demo 20 seconds later boring straight through the smoke at right angles, the traditional opening of their show..... Great stuff !!! Hou doe, Derk

Great stuff !!! Hou doe, Derk There was a 2 days airshow, the Real Arrows (the RED ones) was on day 2 (Sunday)! Frecce Tricolori are good but they've lost their spirit changing their militery tradition to a merchandising fashionable one,in fact you can buy their products in expensive boutiques, like other Italian Air Force stuff,a worst example of made in Italy, like our politcs,or our society,I'm not proud of being an Italian. Other European teams like the Red arrows or the PAF A are righteously first class and they don't lost their glorious tradition.
