True...but that's the thing. Polarization works at exactly 2 positions...the critical angle and 180 degrees from the critical angle. That leaves 358 degrees unprotected. It's like standing behind a stop sign post trying to hide from someone with a shotgun...random chance says you're probably going to get hit.

Exact angle is required for a complete block, but partial filtering works at other angles a well. The question is what % of 360° on average provides enough shielding to prevent flaring and blindness. :blink:

My guess would be that most lasers even at 50% strength are going to be too much. The other issue is polarizing the windows makes it likely more dangerous for the pilots anyway, as the windows are permanently tinted and night flying will be more difficult.

And if it happend to be an english fella doing the laser pointing? Deport him aswell?
