I got laid off then rehired as a consultant for peanuts. Still I'd rather take peanuts than nothing. Better to be between jobs than unemployed.

Texas will be laying off more than 100K teachers in the next few months. I've made it through the first round of pink slips. I may not make it through the second.

Hope it won't happen, mate...

 

Been personnaly laid off long time ago, I know what it's like. And it's a hellish ordeal to find a new post here. Got much of my friends and me searching. Too old to be trainees or interns, to young to be senior, therefore discarded. But I've got my own bit of hope coming in the following weeks, a surprising one.

Hope things are going better for you guys. I was laid off a few years back. It was cool for about a day, then it was off to find another job.
