Cockpit lighting is coded to come on at "night", by this seting in the cockpit.ini file: NightLightOn=0.25

 

Lowering the value to less than "0.25", will force the lighting to come on earlier.

i've been using 0.55 for years ... they should come on just before dusk with that (it's an old Moonjumper fix from 6-7 years ago)

Higher, like Wrench's 0.55. I always used 0.75 as a nice number.

Also -- I think, kinda -- sun light level in Enviro effects this. Also effects how fast moon and stars come out. Or one of those variables. I haven't played with this in a while.

 

Maybe the game sees it as... cockpit light value < sun light level ... if TRUE then lights turn on.

 

Or something like that.

 

This is sad. I used to know all this stuff.
