Great, free W64bit DDS Viewer

For those of you with 64bit Windows Vista/7 who used to use DDS Viewer (which doesnt work on 64 bit)

 

Windows Texture Viewer (last in the list) is a brilliant, tiny app...for viewing DDS files in Windows 64bit

Paint.net accomplishes the same...and a whole 'lot more. Oh, and it's free, too.

As an alternative, Irfanview works for me too in Win 7 64. Open 1 dds in Irfanview, press T, loads of thumbnails load up (size configurable). Only downer is it doesn't save DDS but you can open and then send to another app such as DXT2BMP or Photoshop whatever to edit.

Yup...I just use this, because everytime I wanted to view a skin, it opened in Photoshop..which was a pain in the butt!

Be extra careful downloading .dds viewers. I found one from a Star Trek PC game modding website that had a trojan imbedded in it. Luckily Avira caught and quarantined the file before I actually opened it.
