Have a look at the LVG C.VI for example - the way the Lozenge camo was overpainted with whitewash - amazing.

And then the detail on the engine - it's just incredible.

There are pics of models by Jim Dietz even - I bet it's the same Dietz who does those great paintings.

Olham,

If i lived in Berlin next to you, we could buy all these models everyday and try to build them after we played hours on hours OFF between us.

PS. I'm telling my wife we are moving...

Cheers

Hey, I still am looking for someone to fly OFF together with!

In theory, it is possible to LAN connect two rigs and fire it up. But I had no one to try it with.

So, if you should ever move to Berlin... But I guess, I would be your wife's top enemy then.

Those are fantastic. It's too bad when someone spends countless hours building a model then they photograph them on their picnic table. We can start an OFF convention once a year, pack our rigs up and play OFF for a week straight. The first convention will be in my town in Massachusetts and it starts tomorrow. :bye:

Well, OFF can be played online - some gents around here have already done so.

But I would prefer to fly it with someone in the same room.

I used to fly IL-2 with a neighbour. We both had Bf 109 G6 and fought near the Krim.

It was great fun to be able to talk to each other during flights, and to call for each other's help

during air combats. We often helped each other out of dangerous situations, and then guided

the friend in the damaged craft safely home.

But then he moved away, and we never had even only tried to set up OFF like that.

Widowmaker, did you ever try to fly on the same side with him? I'd like to know, if that also works?

Jawdropping indeed, elephant! Look at those little brass fittings to attach the wires!!!

I'm looking at the Gotha GIV in WN's customer's models images and I can almost imagine the clicking sounds of the cooling Mercedes, the hot oil and benzine smells. It's a beautiful model. The Areodrome always has a static model builder who goes all out. That LVG is exceptional.

I'd also like to direct your attention to this thread at RCGroups..SuperSize me, BE12 build and this thread by the same author..Super Size me FE8

I don't know why you lot are all sitting around talking about flying OFF with other people: why not actually go and do it? There was a very active MP presence here until of late, and I'm happy to sign up for it, but it needs a few of you to stop chatting about it and actually sign up to doing something!!! Doesn't have to be every day, every week or whatever. All it takes is for someone to host and other people to get involved. FFS, you're all heavily into WWI air warfare - just do it: what are you waiting for?

I'd do it in a heartbeat but the forum for MP is anything if not a bit depressing to read, it seems that MP for OFF is 'officially dead"? :dntknw:

I spent a goo deal of coin upgrading for Richthofen's Skies online just a couple of weeks before they pulled the plug on TargetWare's 0.64 servers. Once bitten..
