Guest BeachAV8R Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Yeah, I know, I'm using up all my tokens. So I'm trying to get a mixed rocket/guns loadout on the AT-6B Texan II and I'm running into a problem. The file description says that there is a problem with loading the aircraft for some weapons using the in-game loading screen, so sometimes it has to be done through the loadout.ini file. So I've gone into the loadout.ini file and tried to change the loadouts, but they don't show up on the aircraft in game. I'm trying to get a loadout that includes the HMP-400, LAU-3A, and the PC-9 external fuel tanks. So I figured I could put it under the "Attack" loadout, then use the Attack profile in the game and it would show up..but that isn't happening. Am I being dense? Thing is, I swear on my last training mission I went in and altered the loadouts and the A.I. flight DID carry the loads, so I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.. Any ideas? As usual - thanks for your patience.. I'm hoping the more I learn the less questions I'll have to ask.. Guest BeachAV8R Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Thanks for that Eric. What I read there in your post is exactly how I understand it, but I still can't get the weapons to show up. This loadout seems to follow the proper naming conventions: [Attack] Loadout[03].WeaponType=HMP-400 Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[08].WeaponType=HMP-400 Loadout[08].Quantity=1 Loadout[13].WeaponType=LAU-3A Loadout[13].Quantity=1 Loadout[18].WeaponType=LAU-3A Loadout[18].Quantity=1 Loadout[22].WeaponType=Tank_PC-9 Loadout[22].Quantity=1 Loadout[27].WeaponType=Tank_PC-9 Loadout[27].Quantity=1 But the LAU-3A doesn't show up. I'll investigate further.. :) Thanks for the link though..it does verify that my thought process is at least on target.. Quote
+Wrench Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Do the allowed nations (meaning: AttachmentType=) in the aircrft data ini match the allowed nations (also AttachmentType=) in the weapons' data ini? Also, depending on the nation bein flown, are the weapons set to EXported=TRUE (not having the bird, I cant' check for my self) Edited April 22, 2011 by Wrench Quote
Canadair Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) BeachAV8r, are you trying this in the range terrain? I think so, probably it is needed for your AAR. It is possible (if I remember well) that the "Range" has no definite CAS locations. In this case it will accept the CAS mission , if the airplane you chose is capable of it, but it won't load the "attack" loadout, or load it partially. I ran in this problem in series one before and was getting crazy with it. Try another terrain, with the same loadout and it should appear properly. Edited April 22, 2011 by Canadair Quote

No problem As a double-check see if you can't load them in the Loadout menu first... usually that causes issues too... stuff like weight may be a consideration, or just see what you can load and use that instead. +Wrench Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I beg to differ on the movements ... there are, yes, NO CAS locations, but there are ARMED_RECON routes. I'd download my Rage Upgrade Pak, as it adds these [Route001] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Checkpoint 10 EndArea=Bombing Range RoutePosition[001]=461000,650100 RoutePosition[002]=417172,726165 [Route002] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Vehicle Depot EndArea=Checkpoint 10 RoutePosition[001]=409742,719102 RoutePosition[002]=461000,650100 [Route003] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Vehicle Depot EndArea=Industrial Center RoutePosition[001]=409742,719102 RoutePosition[002]=409351,725400 [Route004] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Checkpoint 6 EndArea=Checkpoint 10 RoutePosition[001]=377000,683000 RoutePosition[002]=466000,740000 [Route005] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Checkpoint 7 EndArea=Industrial Center RoutePosition[001]=359000,708000 RoutePosition[002]=408901,724970 [Route006] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Checkpoint 10 EndArea=Checkpoint 6 RoutePosition[001]=466000,740000 RoutePosition[002]=377000,683000 [Route007] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Checkpoint 8 EndArea=Rail Yard RoutePosition[001]=423090,704090 RoutePosition[002]=408528,720649 [Route008] RouteType=TRUCK StartArea=Checkpoint 10 EndArea=Rail Yard RoutePosition[001]=466000,740000 RoutePosition[002]=408528,720649 There's very few terrains around that I havn't "fiddled with" !!! Guest BeachAV8R Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I'd download my Rage Upgrade Pak... Do you have a link to that? I'd like to give it a shot but a quick search of the file section doesn't come up with it..? Regards! BeachAV8R Quote
Guest BeachAV8R Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Range Upgrade Pak, he forgot the "n" Doh! I really thought it was Rage.. LOL.. Quote
+Wrench Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I always type/say what I mean!! Here's a link to the Ra(n)ge Targets Upgrade: http://combatace.com/files/file/6164-modern-range-and-red-range-upgrade/ now, it IS 100% possible to add CAS routes, hell, even a shipping route if one REALLY wishes to suspend disbelief... wrench kevin stein Quote
+EricJ Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Doh! I really thought it was Rage.. LOL.. LOL true... I've added a couple CAS routes for my version of The Range... I maanaged to get to work on the Mascelero one but for some reason ChampionsVA56 can't get it to work on his own install. Quote
Canadair Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 yes defintely there are armed recon in the upgraded RAGE pack (LOL), but I think the problem comes when it is selcted "CAS missions" that requires of course "attack" loadout. If CAS areas are not present loadout will be only partially loaded. In the least this was in series one, if I remember. Quote
+Wrench Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Canadair IS correct, if there is no route defined for a mission type, the loadout usually defaults to nothing or sometimes a-a loadout. I can whip out some routes first thing next week, if you want, for CAS and A-S (that IS gonna look a bit odd....just pretend the ship is on railroad tracks or something) Quote
Canadair Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 ..another "feature" of this series ...so even in series two there is this "characteristic? :beta1: Quote
Guest BeachAV8R Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 LOL..very interesting. Thanks for batting it back and forth and trying to come up with a solution. So I need to add some "routes" to the Range scenery. If no route is in there and if it does indeed default to the AA loadout I wonder if I add an AA loadout with the mix I'm looking for (guns/rockets) that it will show up? Off to go try! :D Thanks guys.. BeachAV8R Quote
+Wrench Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) well, one can always do THIS to the Range.ini: [AllowedMissionTypes] FriendlyMissionTypes=STRIKE,CAS,SEAD,ARMED_RECON,RECON EnemyMissionTypes=RECON (assuming this CAS route is added:) [Route009] RouteType=GROUND_ATTACK StartArea=Vehicle Depot EndArea=Checkpoint 8 RoutePosition[001]=412670,714040 RoutePosition[002]=414439,711590 RoutePosition[003]=415501,710627 mind you ONLY works on my Range Upgrade. If not, juse edit out (delete) the CAS statement in the above Ships, I'm having a bit of a problem with ... the 'sink' underground. I'll fiddle with more when I get home Sunday night wrench kevin stein Edited April 23, 2011 by Wrench Quote
+JediMaster Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I'm intrigued now. How would one go about upgrading his rage? You backed off from talking about it but I want to know! Enough range talk, let's hear about RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 Quote
+Wrench Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 just look for posts by rhuzio, or whatever alias he's using this week. or other idiots that can't unscrew they're heads from they're asses, when given direct answers to their querys (not beach -- he knows what he's doing) Quote
Guest BeachAV8R Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Rage on the Range - sounds like a theme night.. :) Ya'll have been super helpful, and I make an honest effort at tracking down the answer before asking. It is only when I've tried something about a dozen times that I finally cave in and ask. Usually it's a palm/forehead type of thing... Thanks for keeping me on track. Quote
