Jimbib Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Picked it up this afternoon, a Tamron 300mm SP AF 300mm F2.8, my very own bazooka... 1
Jimbib Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Actually I don't find it too bad hand holding it personally, just need to get a strap now to affix to the lens, not the body.
ST0RM Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 A fellow Sony shooter. Nice piece of glass. I'm looking to replace my dinosaur Sigma 170-500mm. If I might ask, is it used and how much? Cheers! Jeff
Jimbib Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) It is used, yes, got it in an eBay auction for a touch over £460. There's a bit of information over on Dyxum about this lens, and one other review I have found on Pentax mount... http://pentaxlenstest.blogspot.com/2010/03/tamron-sp-30028-if-af.html There really isn't much available to read about this lens, it was only made for the Alpha and Pentax mounts. EDIT: Update, found one over at DP Review that someone seems to be willing to sell, cosmetic condition isn't great, but this lens is built like a tank, glass looks okay from the pics and the mount looks clean too. It still has the original drop in filter. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1056&thread=38985234http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1056&thread=38985234 Edited July 27, 2011 by Jimbib
ST0RM Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Thanks for the tip. I don't have an account for DPReview. If you do, would you mind a PM over to that gent and ask what he had in mind on price? Contact me via PM if you do. Thanks! -Jeff
