+DWCAce Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I looked around the KB and the site in general about the possibility of running SF on a Mac/Windows machine. I'm sure it's been discussed before, just can't remember where. Thanks
+Wrench Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 wasn't there someting about that over at TKs site? I DO remember somebody asking that question....
davokingy Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) I looked around the KB and the site in general about the possibility of running SF on a Mac/Windows machine. I'm sure it's been discussed before, just can't remember where. I run SF2 on an iMac no problem. Depending on what version of OSX you are running (at least 10.5 I think), you should have a utility called Bootcamp in your utilities folder. Use this to create a Windows partition on your HD, insert your Windows XP/Vista/7 installer disk and follow the instructions. Good luck EDIT: Just remembered, this will only work with a Mac that has an Intel processor. Edited August 1, 2011 by davokingy
Z09SS Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 What he said. You have to have an Intel machine and Bootcamp. Bootcamp comes as part of 10.5+, but there is a version for 10.4 out there (and unsupported). I'm running XP on my Mac Pro for gaming purposes; I'll be upgrading to Win 7 as soon as I can find some stray cash.
+FastCargo Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Done it the other way around as well...running Win7/WinXP/OSX 10.5.6 on a Dell m1530. SF2 runs just fine... FC
malibu43 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Works. Did it for years until I got my new laptop!
