The J/S-26 is pending for approval.

The Wrench's modded Mossie in previous page should be ready if You need .

The J/A-21 working decals version should be ready, too (but Lod is an A-TEAM property).

.

I'm waiting from Timmy's edits to start works on Lansen's skins.

Glad to test/try new camps editions.

Hmm. About a 48 campaign, do we have enought enemy aircraft? Or is it just MiG-9, Yak-23, Yak 9 Tu-4? Oh well. A later question. Without a public 21, I admit I feel the campaign would feel kinda hollow. We shall see about a 48 campaign after the 60:ies one - whenever I get to work on that one. It should not take that long tough. Most of the pieces are already set. I just need to place them on a map, and adjust the ground war.

I´m thinking beyond that - a backdated Sweden/Finland terrain for WWII. Replace the buildings, Airfields and ground Objects for those WWII period. A ¨must do¨ to me. :salute:

...and after half a night of trying-to-sleep, I have finished the latest batches of adjustments for Isbjörn, calling it "done" once again.

Last time I called it done to await the Riga, I did however seem to leave a few number of Bugs.

At any rate, a few of the things I made:

Seperated F 17 Kallinge into two detachments, one of them a Lansen wing, the second a A-29B / Pauls Suprise squadron.

Made sure every damn city did not have a missile battery attached. They are rare, and very, very scary without proper countermeasures.

Finally fixed the bloody rockets bug on the Lansen.

Fint jobbat J!

It says a lot that you are actually the first guy to release a campaign for Sf2 that is not just a tweaked original! I hope to be working on the Draken soon-ish but with crazy Christmas times coming out I probably wont have anything super soon...

This Mosquito NF.XIX aka J-30 it's a Viking conversion of Wrench's NF.12

Good for an early campaign with J-26

Just an observation Your J 30 has the wrong nose

This is how J 30 nose looked like:

The J 30s also had a 4 bladed propeller

*teases* A 21R is the A-Team model, so if you have that one, you can fly with it. It is however - sadly - not included in the package. J 28 Vampire requires Expansion Pack 1 for SF1 as you know.

But that is the final airplane list if you have everything.

*sighs* When I say "Done", I never seem to mean it. I am by no means a perfectionist - quite the opposite considering some of the shortcuts I have taken but...

Having dug myself into Swedish military tactics of the era, I found out that the role of the Strike Aircrafts was to target soviet navy assets. This was due to the simple fact that if there was nothing to escort the convoy ships, the navy could easily finish off any task forces. As such, I have made some changes in the latest build. Most of the stationary, inactive destroyers have been turned into active, point defence patrol boats. They defend Riga Class Frigates and Cargo Ships. And that is the primary target of the Strike Packages. Conventional Anti-Ship missions have - however - been scrapped alltogether.

I always tough deep strikes into the soviet union was not really something the Swedish Air Force should do - nor have capacity to do even based out of Finland. The finer points can be debated, but the Navy is the primary target. This also means that when you destroyed a Soviet Naval Asset, its gone for good (if I understood the lines in the target types correctly). It means that the campaign will be more challenging for strike missions at first, and easier as you blow yourself trough the Soviet Navy.

I have also taken myself some liberties. There will be SAMs (Berkuts), but theese will be carried by a surfaced Whiskey Class Submarine. While not the best decision avalible, I felt it was a mix of James Bond and the kind of Jury Rig solutions a war sometimes creates. I would like your opinion on this matter.

Here's the Riga, now 99% finished except for some deck details and the destroyed model.

gallery_33721_313_74920.jpg

In my testing, the ship poses a credible threat for 50s and 60s era strike fighters, i.e. anything without anti-ship missiles or guided bombs.

gallery_33721_313_117685.jpg

I've mostly done modern ships until now, so I was going for a "rusty" weathered metal texture.

gallery_33721_313_75172.jpg

A pair of them can put a good amount of flak in the air. The crew and I both need more practice aiming, though...

JonathanRL, if you are already preparing targets in the campaign data files, the ground object type will be simply "Riga." I'll try to have this ready for upload this weekend, or early next week at the latest.

So you wanted to attack an harbour ?

Defences are laid out in three layers. This applies to the navy.

1: Berkut Battery (if avalible. I think there is just six of them on the entire map !)

2: Flack Batteries.

3: AAA Fire.

And you got bombs and rockets. And maybe even Fighters. Ouch.

Unless one of my Beta testers find something critical, we can expect 1.2 in less then 24 hours. #hype

i been doing layered defenses for years ...all the way back to ATF/FA. Soviet style, no less! The mission builder in ATF/FA had a switch to turn on radar ranges, so it was super easy to have overlapping 'rings of steel'

must be my Russian ancestry!!

Ten years have passed since what is commonly called "The Soviet War" in Sweden and Finland. Many hoped that the end of the war would result in a lasting peace for Scandinavia. Both Sweden and Finland openly applies for membership in NATO to protect themselves from the horrors of war and a nuclear bomb program is now a joint-effort between both countries. Despite this, as a gesture of good faith, Soviet sells Finland a number of MiG-21 Figthers and MiG-15 UTI Training aircraft.

In 1965, a report is sent to Moscow by the extremist left of Sweden. It claims a nuclear bomb is less then a year away, a shock to the Union who expected such a weapon to be at least five years away. During this time, demonstrations - part of the global peace movement - break out in Sweden and Finland. The leaders of both countries suspect Soviet involvement, and raise funds to the military.

February 1966, a small force under Lauri Törni is arrested at a naval base in Murmansk. Suspected as sabotours and spies, they are tried and sent to prison, while Sweden and Finland denies involvement. A few days later, the prison convoy is ambushed with the guards either dead or suspected captured by the unknown attackers. Törnis team is also missing. Soviet angrily demands the surrender of Törni to their custody or war may be declared.

While Törni in a press conference from Washington DC agrees to surrender himself, it is clear that war cannot be averted. The report about the nuclear bomb is spooking the Soviets to such a degree that they have declared that they will attack. Knowing that the Swedish Air Force is the key to victory for Scandinavia, they make plans to almost entirely bypass Finland and attack Sweden directly.

NATO Agents, active within the Union catch wind of the plans and send them to Stockholm. They choose the plan Mannerheims Shield as their best hope for survival...

yay to that

I can recommend the book "Den Dolda alliansen" by Mikael Holmstroem. it really goes under the surface of Swedens connections with NATO during the cold war and gives an in depth view of how Sweden would have reacted upon Soviet aggression.

Den Dolda Alliansen - Mikael Holmström

(Link in Swedish, dont think the book have been translated to English)

By the way JonathanRL, i recommended this campaign to some friends and they seem to be unable to register to combatace.com to download it.

Would it be ok if i set up a temporary mirror of the 1.2 version so they can get a hold of it?

And if you need som skinning or other support to move the mod forward just gimme a shout. I´ve done some skinning for the mod Swedish Forces Pack for a game called armed assault 2.

Subroc: Go right ahead to do so.

Also, I have set up a Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/TSFMod so I dont have to update five-six different forums at once. This thread and the FB will be subject to updates from now on :)

You can check out screenshots and give suggestions :)

I been wanting to read Den Dolda Alliansen for quite some time now, but economy have prevented it :)
