THE coffee.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

In recent years, i have kicked almost every nasty habit I had.

-I do not "self medicate" anymore.

-I stopped smoking (tobacco and so on).

-I stopped drinking in volume.

What is left is a healthy interest in Single Malt whiskeys, Belgian beers, Cuban cigars

and exotic coffee.

Tomorrow i will have a cup of one of the most famous (and certainly most expensive)

coffees of this time. I will be drinking a Kopi Luwak.

Yes, I know where it comes from, I know how it is "made" and I know it is

almost pure gold (100 grammes for 40 bucks, equal to 5 to 8 small cups)

but it is on my wish list.

After this adventure, next stop will be Jamaican Mountain Blue coffee.

Anyone of you have other suggestions for my list??

Cheers!

Yep, good old Dukin' Donuts medium roast. That's the way to go for every day coffee.

I am going to second that, for an everyday cup of coffee, nothing beats Double D's!!!! As for exotic types, I would sure and hell try one, but the price is steep with twin girls at 13 months of age, so it would have to be on someone else ;) The wife actually just went on a rampage through several stores in order to find some Pumpkin Spice coffee, they only sell it during fall up here, and she LOVES it, more then me possibly.

So, here it is!

I drank two cups of Kopi Luwak this morning and it is a coffee like no other!

The taste is not bitter, and in the beginning a bit vague, when you keep it

in your mouth a bit longer before swallowing the tastes and aromas become

more vivid. A lack of bitter, a hint of sweet and chocolat and a woody after taste

make this a coffee I will enjoy again. Although i normally drink my coffee

with cream and sugar, i now wanted to experience the real deal so I drank it

pitch black. I like it! Worth a try if you have the opportunity!
