I've searched all over the place and for the life of me can't find any udpated waternormal.bmp's for SF2. Does the Hi-Res one in the SF1 D/L section work in SF2?

 

I thought I saw some uploaded in a thread the other day (from Wrench?), but I can't find the thread now!

no, those were _water,bmps for the mission editor, that didn't work at all! (hence, they're removal)

 

there's a different one in the CubaOTC terrain, that has some fairly nice 'swells' in it (coutesy of Fubar)

I've been working on a water shader for the series, that improves on the effect at low level, by laying down bump maps every 20 meters or so:

The only issue, is that at this level of detail, any mismatch between adjacent bump maps is immediately noticeable.
