F7F-3N Cockpit details

I couldn't find cockpit photos of the F7F-3N Tigercat published anywhere on the internet, so I am posting them here for future reference :P

I didn't think the pilot had a radar display, but he most certainly does.

The lower panel is important as it has the fuel gage and the accelerometer.

Would love to see this modeled in the SF2 series... <hint hint>

there's actually quite a few books out on the Tigercat ... i've had the "Aircraft Monograph" in Czech (vols 1 & 2), the In Action and one on USN/USMC nightfigters for at least 5 years now. All on PDF (in anyone can read it, and wants the Cz books....let me know)

 

one just has to know where to look! Being the Head Prop Head....

that's in polish actually, first column is continued from previous pages description of cockpit layout, rest is wings technical data...

my faternal grandmother was, lived somewhere near Warsaw before coming to America

 

interestering in the RIO pit, the A & B scopes for the radar. Since it used either the SCR-720* or AN/APS 4 or 6, those all had combined scopes. This looks like a WW2 Blenheim NF.1!!!

on the picture's SCR-720 AN/APS-6 was used on F-2N
