crewcheif Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I have been playing SF/WOV and so on, for some time. Finally bought SF2 a while back and just got around to adding new aircraft from the site. I have found the great guide put out by EricJ on adding downloaded aircraft, but for the life of me I can't even find the right tool to open the extracted files once I have downloaded them. i have windows 7 64bit and the 7zip extractor doesnt seem to be working for me. Sorry for the "new guy" question but everyone has to start somewhere. thanks gents. this is what i get when i try.... attached screen shot Quote
+NeverEnough Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Here's the link: http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_tools.htm The Cat File Extracter is the second file from the top here. Quote
Fubar512 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Are you getting that error with all the 7z files that you've downloaded, or just a few of them? Quote
crewcheif Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Are you getting that error with all the 7z files that you've downloaded, or just a few of them? all of them. I'll try the link above. Thanks for the help. Quote
crewcheif Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 I have tried the cat extractor before and it doesn't even recognize that there is a compressed file. i must be doing something wrong. The problem is i cant open the compressed files after I have downloaded them. Quote
Fubar512 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) I'll try the link above. Thanks for the help. That's an extraction tool for files contained within the Thirdwire catalog (*.cat) files. He misunderstood your question. Getting back to your issue with 7zip, are you using the 9.20 release? Try this link: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z920-x64.msi Edited January 10, 2012 by Fubar512 Quote
+JonathanRL Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Winrar can also handle 7zip files pretty good. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm Quote
crewcheif Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 I downloaded Winrar and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the great and timely help gents. Quote
